Howe moves in for 34,000 and is called by Dean Kaye who holds pocket 3s against Howe’s A2. The board read 8 2 5 J, with the ace coming on the river to give Howe the pot and leave Kaye looking somewhat frustrated.

A generous gesture

Although a deal was refused on the bubble because at least one player didn’t want the dynamics of the game changed, after Richard Hare bubbled and left the card room the players now in the money decided to have a whip around between them and came up with over £500 between them for our bubble boy. A generous gesture that nicely demonstrates the spirit in which the Gala British Casino Poker Tour events are played.

Straight after that, on the next table, Paul Hambleton gets his money in with AK and is called by Keith Hawkins holding pocket 7’s

Hambleton fails to hit and is eliminated from the tournament.
