Anthony Arlot wins Gala Casino British Poker Tour 2008 Teesside Main Event!
The money went in on the river, with a board showing:

10 4 8 3 6

O’Connell moves his chips in with 92 and is called by Arlot with 10 6

Arlot wins!

Well done to Anthony Arlot and a big thank you to the Gala Casino staff for putting on a fantastic leg here at Teeside.

And we are still going. The blinds have gone up to 25,000/50.000 with a 5000 ante – the final level as the structure doesn’t allow for any further increases. If there isn’t a champion declared within an hour at these blinds though, it will be astonishing.

Arlot doubles up

James O’Connell makes it 80,000 on the button, Arlot reraises to 150,000 after Hawkins passes. O’Connell then moves in and Arlot calls.

O’Connell shows A 5 and is in trouble against Anthony Arlot’s AQ. The board changes nothing:

T 7 7 9 2 and the queen kicker plays. Anthony Arlot is upto 1.2 Million, James O’Connell is down to around 400,000.

Almost…. Anthony Arlot limps on the button for 40,000, but James O’Connell isn’t going to play ball and raises it upto 150,000. Hawkins on the big blind passes quickly, and Arlot doesn’t take much longer to relinquish his own, voluntary, investment.
