Down to three tables

J Morgan’s recent elimination at the hands of W Shahid means we are down to 27 players and therefore our last 3 tables.

Tricky Nicky

Niko Hanninen moved all-in in middle position for around 25k and was called by Mustafa Sepanji in late position. Big blind Zacahary Ford seemed to have a decent hand and gave the situation some consideration before decideing to get out of the way. Sepanji was in great shape with A K against the young Scandinavian’s A J but the first card out – the J – proved decisive. The remainder of the board read 5 3 9 6 and did nothing to swing the balance back in Sepanji’s favour. Hanninen’s fortunate double up puts him back in the hunt.

Geary makes his move

After harry Zamitt had raised to 10,000 under the gun, George Geary re-raised all in for 16,600 total. Everyone else folded although Bryan Donovan gave it some serious thought and Zamitt made the call for just 6,600 more.
A Q for Zamitt and A K for Geary.
10 4 7 4 5 brings no improvement for either hand and Geary doubles up.

Buckman creates Rod for own back

Action was folded to Rod Buckman in the small blind and he made a large raise to 16k. Big blind Ian McWilliam moved all-in for an additional 37k. Buckman looked like he now regretted the size of his raise and pondered a while before releasing his cards.

Home James

After just losing a big pot Mark James’ small stack could not survive and he is now out.

W Shahid picks up a nice pot

Zachary Ford bets 7K pre-flop. Shahid calls. the flop is 4 8 9. Zachary bets 15K more and Shahid calls. The turn is 2. Each payer contributes 15K more. The river is 5, Shahid reveals a pair of Queens and Zachary mucks.

Garrett doubles up

Mark James got it all-in pre-flop with pocket sixes against Gregory Garrett’s pocket aces. There was no help for the weaker hand and Garrett doubled up. He has a big stack now while James is down to the felt.

Sepanji the early mover after dinner

After Niko Hanninen had raised from late position Mustafa Sepanji pushes his whole stack in from the small blind. It’s a big bet for Hanninen to call but he doesn’t want to fold – he is after all Scandinavian. After some thought Hanninen sticks his chips in and tables A Q which is racing with J J
There is no help for Hanninen though from 10 9 2 4 8 and Sepanji picks up another nice pot.

Millar ground down

In a battle of the blinds Jamie Millar moved all-in for around 35k from the small blind. Once again big blind Carl Eglintine faced a big decision on his first hand back at the table. He eventually made the call with T T which was in great shape against Millar’s 9 6. The board ran out K 4 2 J A and Millar’s bluff failed to pull off a bad beat and he hit the rail.

Level up

The players are back from their buffet break. The blinds are now 1500/3000 with a 300 running ante.
