More chips for Ford

We have seen some unusual folds here today and we’ve just had another. Wass Shahid had 120,000 in front of him and raised from mid position to 49,500, leaving just 70,000 behind. A re-raise came in from Zachary Ford to 110,000 and everybody else scarpers. Shahid takes little time in also releasing his hand and he is now on the critical list

Level up

The blinds are now 6k/12k with a running ante of 1k.

Mahargh wins a small pot with bullets

Saleh Mahargh called on the button, Wass Shahid folded the small blind and “Skullman” Gerald David declined his option in the big blind. “Skullman” checked a flop of T 9 8 and Mahargh bet 30k. “Skullman” called. The turn was the K and “Skullman” checked once again. Mahargh, who had “Skullman” well covered, moved all-in and “Skullman” quickly folded. Mahargh tabled A A. Dangerously but pofitably played!

Rodger the Dodger

Saleh Mahargh raised to 28k in early position and it was folded to short-stacked G Rodger in the big blind. He pushed all-in for a further 10k and Mahargh called. A 7 for Rodger, 2 2 for Mahargh. The board fell 9 J 8 A 5 and Rodger survived.

Ford gets some back

After Zachary Ford raises to 22,000 from early position it folds round to Gerald David in the big blind who bumps it up to 78,000.
Ford takes a while but eventually moves all in and the decision is back on David. He’s committed nearly a third of his stack with this re-raise and has about 180,000 back but decides there is a better time for his chips to go in and folds.

Mahargh Double-Up

On a flop of 3 10 3 Saleh Mahargh moves all-in for 118300 and after a while is called by Ben Chrisholm (chip leader).

Mahargh tables 10 3 for the full house while Chrisholm shows K 10 for two-pair.

A K on the turn builds up some pressure but a 5 ensures that Mahargh doubles up to around 300,000.

Early action

Our first bit of serious action at the final table sees Alistair Findlay raise to 29,000 (blinds are 4,000/8,000) and Zachary Ford immediately to his left re-raises to 70,000.
Everyone else folds and it doesn’t take Findlay long to announce an all in.
Ford has been quite aggressive and folds his pocket tens face up, perhaps to show the rest of the table that he’s not just making a move with trash.
