Ford wins a pot

Zachary Ford raises from the button and the blinds both fold. Ford seems to be the only one willing to try and make something happen. However, the pot he wins is nevertheless inconsequential.

Wass Shahid wins an inconsequential pot

All fold round to Wass Shahid who calls in the small blind. Skull Man checks from the big blind. Shahid throws out a tentative bet on the flop and David folds. Pretty standard fare at the moment.

Ben Chisholm wins an inconsequential pot

Ben Chisholm limped under the gun and it was folded to Lee Birchall in the big blind, who declined the option to raise. Flop 3 5 8 and turn 7 were checked by both players. Birchall bet 28k when the 9 fell on the river and Chisholm called. Chisholm’s A 9 was better than Birchall’s Q 5 and he picked up a small pot.

Ford crashes

Zachary Ford raised to 45k in the cut-off and Saleh Mahargh re-raised all-in for an additional 189k in the big blind. Ford told Mahargh that he had folded in a similar situation a few rounds earlier but was going to look him up this time and tabled 6 6. A coin flip at best and best this was not since Mahargh had T T. The board fell Q A 4 9 Q and Mahargh’s hand held up. He scooped a monster pot and put a severe dent in Ford’s stack.

Shahid all in

Wass Shahid moves the last of his 43,500 chips in and Alistair Findlay calls from the button. Lee Birchall looks for a moment as though he might be interested but dumps his hand.
Findlay shows first and has J K . Unsurprisingly he’s not ahead – Shahid has A 4 and he is pleased to see 9 6 3 Q 8 which doubles him up.

Rodgered

G Rodger moved all-in for 44k in middle position and was called by “Skullman” Gerald David in the big blind. Rodger’s black queens were in good shape against “Skullman’s” K Q. The 9 7 4 flop was good for the all-in player but the K on the turn left him drawing to the one remaining queen. The J on the river sealed Rodger’s fate and he exits the tournament in 8th place, collecting £3,000 for his efforts.

Level up

The blinds are now 8,000/16,000 with a 1,500 ante

Ford motoring

Saleh Mahargh and “Skullman” Gerald David limped in late position, Alistair Findlay completed the small blind, and Zachary Ford checked his option in the big blind. The flop was J 9 4. It was checked to “Skullman” who bet 40k. Ford was the only caller. Turn 2 and river 5 were checked down and Ford tabled Q J for top pair. “Skullman” mucked.

75K pot to Alistair Findlay

Abolins abolished

Gala Poker online qualifier Luke Abolins moved all-in under the gun for 122k and “Skullman” Gerald David called in the cut-off with black tens. They were in good shape against the A 9 of Abolins. A board of 6 K Q 7 J improved neither hand and Abolins is the first player to depart the final table.
