Emily Lauberts joins our growing list of eliminations

Bristol champion's back-to-back bid fails

This season’s GCBPT Bristol champion, Neil Blatchley, was eliminated when his ace-queen failed to improve against pocket sevens.

Flanagan gone

Mark James led out for 1800 on a flop of T 3 2 and Frank Flanagan raised all-in for an additional 4700. James called and exposed A T. Flanagan trimuphantly spun his K K halfway across the baize. However, his excitement proved short-lived as running aces ( and ) sent him packing.

It's a cruel game

G Stewart raises to 1200 pre-flop from the cut off and Niko Hninen applies the pressure with a re-raise to 3500. When A Wright moves all in from the small blind Stewart folds and Hninen is priced in to call with his AJ. It’s in bad shape against the AK of Wright but the river brings a straight for Hninen and Wright is out.

Double KO

On a board showing K 10 9, Marcus Bebb-Jones, J Elliot and Donovan Burton get their chips into the middle and they all table their hands.

Elliot: QJ
Bebb-Jones: K9
Burton: K10

A King on the turn and a 9 on the river gives Burton, who has both players covered, the winning hand and knocks two players out of this tournament.

McGinn knocks out Muresan

Grant McGinn raised to 800 under the gun and was called by I.Gentles two to his left. Charles Efstathiou re-raised to 4000 in middle position and it was folded to Radu Muresan in the big blind. He saw the opportunity to multiply his short stack and moved all-in for 1500. McGinn followed suit for 3400 and Gentles decided there was too much in the middle not to see a flop, so he called. The flop was J J 9. Gentles checked and Efstathiou quickly moved all-in. Gentles folded and the cards were on their backs: 4 4 for Efstathiou, A K for Muresan and, amazingly in the lead, 5 5 for McGinn. Turn and river were 9 3 sending Muresan to the rail but keeping McGinn alive and now with a healthy stack.

Joe Beevers out

With both big and small blinds away from the table Joe raised to 1050 from early position with J 2
Having got one caller the flop of J58 looks decent enough so Joe bets 1500 which is also called. The 2 on the turn looks perfect so Joe gets it all in only to find that his opponent is holding pocket jacks. Incredible stuff, and the turn is even a 2 to give Joe a full house of his own but it’s not enough – he’s out.

It's a cruel game

G Stewart raises to 1200 from the cut off and Niko Hninen applies the pressure with a re-raise of his own from the button. When A Wright moves all in from the small blind Stewart gets out the way and Hninen is priced in to call with his AJ. It’s in bad shape against Wright’s AK but the river brings a cruel straight for Hninen and Wright is out.
