News & Reports

Williams gone

M Wiliams has just busted almost as soon as he sat back down.

Connett connects

Lee Connett moved all-in for 5600 under the gun and got past all except big blind Rod Buckman, who pondered long and hard before counting out the call. A 6 for Connett, T 9 for Buckman. A flop of 8 7 3 had something for everyone. The 9 gave Buckman the lead and he went to shake Consett’s hand when the T gave him two pair on the river, but Consett pointed to his six and offered his hand back to Buckman. When it finally sunk in that Buckman had lost to a straight, he shook his head in disbelief.

Chu doubles through.

Garwo Chu manages to survive a coinflip to double up. His 9’s hit another on the flop and his opponents A,10 did not improve.

Final board: Q Q 9 6 4

Chip leader

Having taken fresh chip counts during the break we can see that Jamie Millar is our chip leader on 81,900.

Level Up!

The blinds are now 400/800 with a running ante of 100.

Barber gets chop

With around 5k in the pot, big blind Michael Richardson bet 5k and Leigh Barber raised all-in for around 20k. Richardson, with a similar stack, insta-called and showed 5 5 for bottom set. Barber had been caught at it and could only muster A Q. The T on the turn gave Barber four outs but the 3 on the river finished him. A chip count confirmed Barber’s elimination and he hit the rail.

Doing the Lambert walk

Kenneth Lambert moved all-in for 2325 in early position and managed to get past all but B Donovan in the big blind. With blinds at 300/600 and a running ante of 50, he was priced in to call and did so with J 4. These were live against A 7. The board ran out T 5 3 2 A and Donovan’s straight beat Lambert’s top pair.

Rupinder Bedi is struggling to stay in the game

Rupinder Bedi goes all in pre-flop (2.5K) with A K. H Zammit calls with Q J. The flop is Q 10 10. Turn – 4. And J on the river. This saves Bedi and he’s up to 5K now.

Lofthouse picks up a nice pot

Simon Mairs checked a flop of 8 6 6 and Mel Lofthouse bet 2500 into a pot of around 4000. Mairs raised to 6000 and Lofthouse called. The turn was 4 and Mairs squeezed his hand, presumably to look for a heart. He didn’t like what he saw and checked. Lofthouse took the opportunity to bet 8000, which looked like about half Mairs’ remaining chips. Mairs folded and Lofthouse scooped a healthy pot.

Hard luck, Hardy.

Paul Hardy and P Ioannou get their chips in pre-flop and show KJ & AK

Hardy hits his J on the flop of J 2 9 but is denied victory when an Ace comes out on the turn.

A meaningless 8 hits the river and Paul Hardy is out.
