News & Reports

Some eliminations

During the internet outage James Browning busted to Dave Colclough, giving him a nice stack.
Gary Bowden also busted when he got it all in pre flop with pocket jacks against A Hussein’s queens and the board blanked out.
Steven Doughty also exited just before the break.

Updates

The internet connection has been down again which is why you have not had any updates recently. It has returned just as players have gone on break so we will get you some chip counts whilst they are away from the table.

McGeough falls down Hill

After some unknown preflop action, Nigel Hill bet 700 on a flop of 6 3 2. Martin McGeough raised to 1500 and Hill called. Hill checked when the 9 turned, and McGeough bet 2000. Hill quickly called. The 9 on the river was again checked by Hill and this time McGeough moved his remaining 5750 chips into the middle. Hill agonised before making the call. McGeough revealed a pocket pair, 7 7, and a relieved Hill slapped his A A onto the table in triumph.

G David makes a comeback

G David gets it all in pre flop against Stephen Frew with David’s J J in good shape against Frew’s 10 10 There is no help for Frew when 8 9 5 4 7 fall and with 1200 also in the pot from Dominic Rossookh who had to fold pre flop, it’s more like a treble up than a double for David. He’s now up to 4750

Rodgered

G Rodger raised to 1300 in middle position and was called by Stuart Brownson on his immediate left. Everyone else folded. Flop K J 4. Rodger fired 2000 and Brownson called. Turn 9. Rodger checked and it was Brownson’s turn to fire 2000. Rodger called. River 8. Rodger checked again and Brownson moved all-in for 3550. Rodger deliberated before making a reluctant call with K T. It was no good against Brownson’s J J.

Hill exits

Mike Hill is our latest casualty. We are starting to see the chips moving around much more now as the blinds start to take their toll.

Level up

The blinds have increased to 200/400. This often sorts the wheat from the chaff.

Kola cooler

Last night’s 200 pound tournament winner M Kola raised to 650 in middle position and was called by Richard Bulkeley in the big blind. Bulkeley checked a flop of 9 9 8 and Kola quickly moved all-in for his remaining 3500. Bulkeley made an even quicker call and was in good shape with Q 9 against Kola’s T T. Turn and river of 8 4 did not help Kola and he hit the rail.

Richardson gone

2007 Leeds champion Lee Richardson has been eliminated.

Eagles sore

F Stewart raised to 500 in middle position and was called by Mark Baxter on his immediate left. Roy Eagles moved all-in for his remaining 1950. G Rodger re-raised to 4000 from the cut-off in an attempt to isolate and it was folded back round to Baxter. He deliberated before peeling off the call. Baxter checked a flop of J 5 4 and folded when Rodger continued for 4000. On their backs for the main pot: top-pair-top-kicker for Eagles with A J, overpair for Rodger with Q Q. Turn and river of 7 5 did not help Eagles as he flew out of the tournament.
