Gala Casinos Poker Tour - Bristol Day 2 - Final

News & Reports

Blatchly takes a hit

Michael Punn moves in on the cut-off for 56,900 and gets a fairly quick call from our chip leader in the small blind. It’s a race between Punn’s 2 2 and Blatchly’s A J

Q Q 5 9 4

Michael Punn doubles up to around 115,000.

Milton - out

Roy Milton exits when his all-in with QT is called by Gurnam’s 77 and Cawthra’s 88

A board of J 8 J 3 4 gives Mark Cawthra the full house for the win.

New chip leader

That pot propels Blatchley into the lead with 340,000 chips.

Javad - Out

Farzan Javad exits when his J K fails to improve against Blatchly’s A J on a board of Q J 7.clubs 5 9

Sillick's AK out to Farthing's KQ

Neil Sillick takes a walk after he calls all-in pre-flop with AK against Marcus Farthing’s KQ.

A queen-high board sends Sillick to the rail.

Maudlin doubles through with aces

On a flop of 5 7 T Dave Maudlin bets out 20,000 and is raised another 20,000 by Frank Flanagan which he calls. The turn brings the K and Dave Maudlin checks, Flanagan moves in for 101,000 and is called. Maudlin turns over A A against Flanagan’s A J No queen but Maudlin can only match 75,600 of the bet, so Flanagan is still hanging in there.

Taramas shoves J7o on the bubble, called by Blatchly

In a staggering display of..ummm…‘aggression’ , John Taramas shoves all in pre-flop on the bubble from the cutoff with J 7 for 89,700 (blinds at 3000/6000/600)

After a count and a minute’s thought, Neil Blatchly calls the all-in with A King

The board runs K T 8 K Q

Taramas exits.

All players remaining are now in the money with 33 minutes remaining until the break.

It's that time again

We’re on the bubble. Only one more player will leave this tournament without showing a profit.

Aces strike again

This time it’s Scott McCarthy’s misfortune to run his A Q into them. He doesn’t improve and is out.

Betting into the nuts

Harpit Gurnham on the big blind calls a minimum raise from Marcus Farthing on the button. His K J matches the Q T 9 flop very nicely and he check calls 7,000 then 6,000 bets on the flop and turn. The 6 7 means he still has the nuts on the river but Marcus just checks behind this time aware he’s not going to get called by anything which isn’t beating his A T
