Gala Casinos Poker Tour - Bristol Day 1A

News & Reports

Thew! That's a relief!!

In a reasonable display of aggression from both parties preflop, Chris Davies bets out 4k into a 9k pot on a flop 5 2 4 with 88

Julian raises with AKo setting Chris all in and Chris calls.

Unfortunately for Chris, Julian spikes a King on the river and jumps from 22k up to just over 38k.

Dioysiou - Out

Blinds are 200/400 with an anti of 25

Kiriakis Dioysiou raises to 1200 in mid position and is re-raised to 3500 by Chris McKee who is sitting to the left of Dioysiou. Everyone folds to Dioysiou who then moves in for the rest of his chips and is quickly called by McKee.

They table their cards:

Dioysiou: AK
McKee: KK

Dioysiou gets no help on a final board of 57733 and is eliminated from the tournament.

Didn't they do well....

Whilst munching on my buffet food, I noted a few things:

1. There was a prize draw (boring – we didn’t win)

2. The prizes were handed out by girls dessed glamur…glamer….nicely (initially interesting, but became boring when they didn’t hand over a telephone number – going for broke, I also asked for their room number in the hotel. I’m not sure there is a room called “sod off you letch” but I intend finding out)

Prizes were as follows:

1st – iPod Nano – Frank Flannagan
2nd – Watch – Chris Burtram
3rd – iPod Shuffle – Robert Golding

3. Tournament back off dinner break now with 83 players remaining.

Calvin got muppetted by Jack on table ten

Apparently.

We’re not sure who Calvin is or, for that matter, Jack.

Or even what ‘muppetting’ entails.

But it sounds painful. Or maybe fun.

The queue for the buffet is pretty long, and we’re bored. Normal service will resume shortly.

Browning doubles up.

Matt Browning doubles up with 1010 against his opponents A A

They both get their money in pre-flop and Browning manages to hit a club flush on the river to double up.

Board: J 3 4 7 8

I'm a bit ante that to be honest

Another 20 minutes left of 200/400/0 with the next level being 200/400/25

90 players left in spread over 11 tables, and average stack is 13,400

More eliminations.

John Tingate, Steve tucker and Ben Barrett have all been eliminated.

Blinds are currently 200/400.

Sell Green

Kevin Bond is out, along with John O’Hara and John Lundy.

History repeats.....

Two players have been involved in all-ins twice with the same hands against each other.

James Gawen has had A J both times and been the chipleader both times against Chris Davis who has had AK unsuited both times, and each time on a Q-high flop.

Live poker is rigged…

'Bluffer Dale' calls for card, misses, pushes anyway

On a flop of 6 7 8 Matt calls a 2k bet on the button from an EP bet. Calling for a ten, the turn hits 9 and after an EP check, Matt shoves in. The EP folds in disgust. Matt’s final words were “gutshot for the win….”
