News & Reports

McArthur doubles up

Dave Maudlin raised to 21k in middle position and Gordon McArthur reraised to 45k in the cut-off. Maudlin called. The flop was 9 4 4. Maudlin checked to McArthur who moved all-in for his remaining 36k. With 145k in the pot and odds of 4/1 on the call, Maudlin went into the tank. He thought, asked the dealer how much the bet was, thought a bit more, asked the dealer again, thought even more and finally the clock was called. He called with 7 7. McArthur had K K. The turn and river were T 8 and McArthur doubled up to around 180k.

Level up

The blinds are 4k/8k with an 800 running ante.

Players are on a break

17 will be back in a couple of minutes.

Collins all-in

Richard Howe makes it 10,700 in early position and it’s folded around to Steven Collins in the small blind who pushes all in for 37,400 more. Howe thinks for a couple of minutes counting his stack, which wouldn’t be too badly damaged even if he called and lost, but decides against it and eventually passes having spent half of the 10 minute break playing the hand.

C Young fights back.

Daniel Byrom raises to 15,000 in late position and Young makes its 45,000 to go on the button, leaving himself with 15,000.

After a while, Bryom folds handing Young the pot.

Paradise Regained

Rupinder Bedi raised to 16k under the gun and Steve Milton moved all-in for a further 44k on the button. Bedi eventually called with 8 8 and was in poor shape against Milton’s 9 9. The first four cards out – 5 A 6 7 – left Bedi drawing to one out. The 8 on the river was not it and Milton is up to a healthy 134k.

Demetriou bites the dust

Maria Demetriou her 70k stack all-in pre-flop with K K against Rupinder Bedi’s A A. The 7 4 2 J J board spelled the end of her bid. She leaves in 18th with £1,200.

Thompson out

Short stack Simon Thompson moved all-in on the button and Jonathon Butters was priced in to call from the big blind. Q 9 for Thompson versus T 5. Sadly for Thompson it was the off-suit hand that made the flush as the community cards came out A 3 3 8 2. Thompson exits in 19th with £1,100.

Know when to fold 'em

Daniel Byrom raised to 15k in the cut-off and James keys reraised to 40k on the button. The blinds evaporated and Byrom considered a while before folding AQ off-suit face up. Keys showed AA and the table applauded Byrom’s fold.
