Young gunned

Colin Young got it all-in pre-flop with A 7 against the newly revitalised Dave Maudlin’s black aces and goes out in 10th, collecting £2,600. That bursts the final table bubble. Those remaining will be treated to dinner in the Charcoal Grill. We’ll be back when they are.

Poetic justice for Byrom

Big blind Dave Maudlin checked a flop of A 5 4 and Daniel Byrom bet 30k from the button. Maudlin raised to 115k, setting his opponent all-in. Byrom then treated the table to a commentary of what Maudlin might have. He ruled out 23, said the flopped flush would be sick, and then tried to figure out whether Maudlin had a flush draw, an ace, both, or nothing. Maudlin kept a stony silence. Eventually Byrom decided Maudlin had made a move and called with A 6. He was right – Maudlin had Q J – but he still had to dodge a heart. Turn and river were 2 A and Byrom doubled up, making a big dent in Maudlin’s stack.

Players on a 10 minute break

The dinner break will be held when down to the final table, with the finalists being treated to a complimentary meal in the restaurant before resuming play.

Down to 11

Rupinder Bedi makes it 32,000 on the button with K9 and a very short stacked Steven Collins has no decision to call with A 9 and can’t be in much of a better spot to double up. Unfortunately for Steven the poker gods have decided his time is up and the board ends up 4 K 7 7 Q

Steven is out in 12th but receives £2000 for his troubles.

Richard Howe doubles up

On a flop of A 2 3 Howegets all of his 171K chips in the middle and is called after a while by Dominic Kay.

Howe shows AA for a flopped set and Kay shows A 5 for a gutshot straight draw.

The turn and river bring a 10 6

This leaves Dominic Kay extremely short with 28K and Howe now has a monster stack of 343K
