Wan doubles up

A very short stacked Samuel Wan manages to crack aces with his J 3 on a board of 6 K J 3 7.clubs and doubles up to 2950


Johnstone at the double

T. Johnstone got it all-in pre-flop with A K against A. William’s 9 9. The Q 8 J flop gave him additional outs and he caught up on the turn when K fell. 2 on the river booked the win and he doubled up.


Play resumes

All the players are back on their seats. Blinds are now 200/400, 84 players remain.

Value Butt

Robert Butt raised to 600 in early position and was called by Z Aslam in middle position, G Gabriel on the button, and Hoi Lui in the small blind. Despite the value offered, the big blind folded. The flop was 4 J 9. Lui checked, Butt bet 600, and only Gabriel called. The turn was 9 and Butt fired the second barrel for 1000. Gabriel called again. The river T was checked down and Butt showed A J which was enough to make Gabriel muck.

Walker eliminates Blake

On a board of 7 9 4 Blake moves all in, Walker takes a moment and then calls.

Blake shows A A and Walker shows 7 9 for two-pair and the lead.

The turn and river were no help for Blake (Q J) and gets knocked out of the tournament.


Turnball safe for now

M Turnball moved his short stack of 1250 all-in from early position. G Gabriel called on his immediate left and R Dawson reraised all-in for an additional 8100. It was folded around to Gabriel who pondered before mucking. K K for Turnball and A Q for Dawson. The flop was T T J and Dawson exhorted the dealer to “Give him his king!” before correcting himself when he noticed that the board had paired. 8 3 were the innocuous turn and river and Turnball stayed in the hunt.


Holden on

Steve Holden limped under the gun and S Outgajjouf raised to 700 from middle position. It was folded around to Holden who called. The flop was J 9 2 and Holden moved all-in for 1325. The old stop-and-go. Outgajjouf called with A K which was behind Holden’s 3 3. Turn and river were 4 4 and Holden held on.

Mahmood now out.

Mahmood gets the rest of his chips in with pocket kings in the next hand and is called by James Keys who shows his aces.

No help for Mahmood on the board and he walks.
