News & Reports

Butt loses a big pot

With the board showing Q A 10 10 and a pot of around 12,000, Butt bets out 6500 and is called by S. Lawrence

The river is a 2 and Butt bets out another 5000, Lawrence calls.

Butt shows AK but Lawrence tables AQ for a higher two-pair and is awarded a nice pot.

Level up

Blinds are now 400/800 with a running anti of 75

50 players remain.

Three way action

Three players got it all-in pre-flop on table 5. R. Dawson, as if to excuse a dodgy call, said he was “gambling” with his Q Q but was astonished to find himself in decent shape against Mark Turnball’s A J and Carl Walker’s K J. The flop was Q T 9 and Dawson exclaimed his approbation before Walker pointed out that he’d flopped a straight. Dawson then asked for the board to pair but 4 8 wrapped up the hand without further excitement. Turnball out, Dawson crippled and Walker a very happy man.

Wong gone

Jason Wong got it all-in on a K-T-x flop with K-Q and was called by T-T. A queen fell on the turn but the runner-runner miracle did not transpire when a brick fell on the river. Out.

Chris Bruce out

Chris Bruce has been knocked out in what could be the biggest pot of the day.

Daniel Bryon raised to 1500, Bruce re-raises to 5000 and Bryon moves in, Bruce calls with all his chips (around 50,000) and tables Kings

Bryon shows Aces.

The board does not help Bruce and he is eliminated from the tournament.

Bryon picks up a pot of around 100,000.

Aslam drags in a big pot

His red Kings beat his opponents Eights to pick up a good sized pot.

The final board showed 4 J 2 4 3

Dhiri doubles up

Raj Dhiri raised to 1200 and Steven Hogg reraised to 4000. Dhiri counted out his stack and shrugged as if to say he didn’t have enough to just call, so he pushed all-in for a further 4500. Hogg made the call with 8 8 and was in bad shape against Dhiri’s A A. A flop of T 3 9 all but nullified one of Hogg’s two outs and turn 3 river 5 sealed the deal for Dhiri. A much needed double up with blinds at 300/600.

Moore KO's Paheerathen

Moore’s Queens knock-out Paheerathen’s Sevens

They get it all in pre-flop

A board of 5 5 10 J 10 sends Paheerathen to the rail.

Bedi doubles through

Bendi’s Aces beat his opponents (S. Lawrence) Sixes to win a nice pot.

They get it in pre-flop.

Flop: 8 4 K

Turn: 4

River: 4
