News & Reports

I'll get me Coat, man

G. Coatman got it all-in with T-9 against Richard Howe’s A-J. The Q-J-2-3-4 board sent Coatman to the rail.

Byrom Lords it over Lynch

John Lynch limped in late position and Daniel Byrom declined his option in the big blind. The board K 3 6 J 6 was checked until the river, whereupon Byrom peeled off 3k from his mammoth stack. Lynch quickly popped it up another 3k and Byrom pondered a while before adding a further 20k. A most unexpected denoument to the hand. Lynch looked pained as he eventually folded his J face up and Byrom gave a knowing chuckle as he mucked his cards and raked a healthy pot.

Battle of blinds proves deadly

Carl Walker moved his short stack into the middle from the small blind and was insta-called by John Lynch with A Q. Walker tabled his A 8 in frustration. The board ran out T 8 Q 7 9 and Walker walked.

Hamid Motaghian out

Hamid’s Queens are beaten by AK

Chapman gets them risk free

Anthony Chapman raised to 3.5k from the cut-off and Sam Wardlaw called in the big blind. The flop was 5 J T and Wardlaw led out for 5k. Chapman quickly called. The turn was 4 and Wardlaw checked. Chapman moved all-in for 25k and Wardlaw went into the tank. The decision was for the majority of his remaining chips. Eventually he passed and Chapman clamly mucked, scooping a big pot.

Level up

Blinds are now 600/1200 with a running anti of 100

Butt out

Robert Butt has been eliminated from the tournament.

Wallace disembowelled

T. Wallace got it all-in pre-flop with queens against the ace-king of Rupinder Bedi. Flop and turn 6-5-5-2 were good for Wallace but ace on the river left him feeling well and truly gutted.

Dawson doubles

Carl Walker raised to 4400 from the cut-off and R. Dawson moved all-in on the button for less than Walker’s bet. The blinds left them to it. A A for Dawson and J T for Walker – if you must crack ‘em, a good hand to do it with. The board, however, did not oblige: K 8 5 T 3. Dawson reaps some small revenge for the bad beat Walker delivered on his queens a few rounds ago.

House of Frazer

T. Wallace raised to 3000 in early position and was called by Daniel Byrom in the small blind. Ian Frazer reraised all-in for a further 7850. Wallace quickly called and Byrom folded with a shrug. Red aces for Frazer and A Q for Wallace. The board was unequivocal: J K K A 2. A full house for Frazer and he’s back in the hunt.
