News & Reports

Time for Bed, son. Dad too.

Jim Bedson and M. Ghulan ‘Freeloader’ Dad have been eliminated.

Burke's Peerless

A gargantuan pot was brewing with the board reading A 8 8 A J. Anthony Ivison checked from the small blind and J. Burke bet 5k into a pot of around 15k. Ivison shrugged, muttered something aboutf being priced in, and called off about 1/3 of his stack with black queens. Burke flipped over A 9 and scooped a fat one. Ivision shook his head, clearly disgusted that Burked had stayed in with such a mediocre holding.

Timpson gets unlucky

3 players including an all in see a flop of 6 7 8 and Daisy Timpson bets out 3,000 holding J J Lawrence Houghton on her left folds and she is in good shape against her all-in opponent’s AQ The turn and river are 9 5 though to put a straight on board to split the pot. Daisy picks up a small side pot too.

Three in a Bedson

An unknown player limped in middle position and Thomas Rutter raised to 1300. Jim Bedson moved all-in for a total of 1800 and both players called. The board of 9 A 8 J 2 was checked down and Bedson announced one pair, flipping over A 7. It was good for the treble up.

Some ace-queens are better than others

Paul Jackson got it all-in pre-flop with ace-queen against king-ten. A king on the flop did for him.

Meanwhile C. Tran got it all-in pre-flop with ace-king against Anthony Ivison’s ace-queen. The board ran out with four diamonds which, unluckily for Tran, combined with Ivison’s queen to make a flush.

Gardener crippled

He hasn’t held onto his chips for long, all-in holding AK.spades Rory Mathews calls with 4 4

The board reads T 2 4 8 2 to give Mathews the house and almost all of Paul Gardener’s chips.

Play resumed

Blinds are now 200/400

Dinner Break

Play have broken for 45 minutes as the players attack the free buffet.

Gardener doubles through

It all goes in preflop with Paul Gardener holding AK and his opponent QQ. It all looks to be over when the queen flops but Gardener rivers the broadway straight to double up back to his starting stack.
