No pair for Perry

Gabriel D’Agostino moves in over the top of Steve Perry’s raise and Perry makes the call. It’s K A for D’Agostino and K J for Perry.
Perry doesn’t improve with 10 6 7 9 10 and D’Agostino doubles up.

Adrian's Fall

Adrian Coombes got it all-in pre-flop with K K against Robin Yiltalo’s A Q. The board ran out 8 A 3 8 A giving Yiltalo a full house and Coombes an unpleasant exit from the tournament.

2 more to the rail

Mohammed Rasul and Neil Stewart are gone. *Correction – Neil Stewart is not out (see next post).

Cooler for McCool

Rory Matthews raises to 8000 and Mick McCool moves all in. Matthews calls with his pocket eights but is a long way behind McCool’s pocket kings.
They suddenly go a long way ahead of kings though as there is an eight on the flop followed by another one on the river for quads.

The very next hand McCool shoves the last of his chips in with 6 6 but John Welsh’s 10 10 also flops a set and McCool is out.

Complete chip counts have just been updated.

Higgins v Loader II

John Higgins raises under the gun to 7000. Karen Wilson calls and Nick Loader moves all in for 39500. Higgins is an unlikely candidate to be raising light UTG and sure enough he has a hand big enough to move in himself. Karen Wilson folds and we see the hands.
7 7 for Loader, Q Q for Higgins
The board comes 3 A 9 10 K and Higgins eliminates Loader.
When he lost a big hand right at the death on day 1a it looked as though Higgins was a goner but he actually had a few more chips than we at first thought and now he has had a storming first couple of hours here today. Had Loader not moved all in, the ace on the flop would have made things very different as Wilson was forced to fold her AQ
