Higgins miscues

John Higgins raised on the button and big blind Mark Greenwood moved all-in for another 30k. Higgins made the call with 3 3 and was pleased to find Greenwood with A K. However, the first card out was K and the remaining cards 9 Q T A were too high to help Higgins. Greenwood gets his second double-up in quick succession and is now a force in this tournament.

A 8 for Greenwood, J 9 for Lynch. The Q 2 5 6 K board connects with neither hand and Greenwood stays alive.

Welsh conquered

Rory Mathews raised in early position and big blind John Welsh moved all-in. It was an easy call for Mathews with A K but Welsh’s Q J were live. The board ran out 5 6 T 4 7 and Welsh went out in 15th place.

Demarco doubles up

Short stack Ramon Demarco moved all-in for 11k in middle position and John Welsh re-raised on the button to isolate him. 7 7 for Demarco, A J for Welsh. The board fell 2 9 4 3 9 and Demarco survived again.
