Barny, Ross and I all arrived here at the Bellagio on Sunday flying direct with Virgin on the VS43. Ram had come a few days earlier to visit friends and managed to squeeze in an extra tournament, the $5000 NLH. He was chip leader several times and eventually finished third collecting over $100,000 for his troubles.
Monday Barny and Ross did live radio on the Larry Grossman show with Fezzick who as well as being an interviewer/ producer is an expert NFL judge. He’s given us a big pointer for next years season and once we’ve been accommodated we’ll try and share the info.
Today was the first tournament on this leg of the Prima Poker Tour, the $2500 NLH. 273 players started and as I write they are in the fourth level with 175 remaining. Ram is also out. Barny and Ross share the same table as well as with David Plastik, Surinder Sunar and John Esposito. Barny has about 7,000 and Ross must be just about chip leader with over 30,000. At the Bellagio you start with double chips; so a $2500 starts with $5000 in chips. With the blinds at $100/$200 and a $25 ante Ross has double any player on his table and is using that leverage very well.
The Bellagio poker room proper is completely boarded off. The slot area outside it has been taken up with cash games and the slot area moving down towards the ‘O’theatre is the tournament overflow. The main tournament area is in the Fontana Lounge with the final tables being played where the Jazz Band normally plays. Players all prefer the Fontana to the slot area as it’s quieter and it has the awesome views of the strip and the Bellagio fountains.
There are quite a few Europeans here: Marcel Luske, Johan Storakers, Garry Bush, John Kabbaj, Dave Ulliot and Harry Demetriou to name a few. We’ll try to keep you updated both here and on the Mob Forum.
