In the following exercises, your task is to identify which of the two five-card hands contains the better low.

Here Hand A has a pair in his five cards, so he does not have five qualifying cards. Hand B therefore has the better hand: 8-7-6-5-A for an Eight low.

This time Hand A has a Seven low: 7-6-5-3-A. Hand B does not have a qualifying hand from his five cards, because only four of his cards meet the qualifier of being Eight or below (usually referred to as ‘Eight or better’).
