In this example you have made a Queen-high straight. You can use the Queen and Eight in your hand together with the Jack, Ten and Nine on the board to complete a Q-J-10-9-8 straight. Note that you don’t have a flush, as there are only three hearts on the board and one in your hand. Five cards in the same suit are required to complete a flush.

Here you have made an Ace-high flush using the two hole cards together with the three hearts on board for a final hand of A -9-6-4-3.
