Hi all, my name is James Lowe' and I have recently taken over as Poker Manager at Genting Poker.

Unfortunately my first post is not great news!

Genting Poker has decided to stop the Hendon Mob Tournament $ scheme with immediate effect. The VIP scheme available on Genting Poker offers excellent value for all players and all players signed up with Genting Poker will have this scheme available to them. If you have not already used them, the Genting Points can be exchanged for cash or online tournament buy-ins.

This does mean that any points you have accrued and not used are no longer valid. Look out for the new Genting VIP scheme currently being planned to go live in July 2013.

Dear All,

First Off, I wish to apologies for the confusion my earlier post (and introduction to THM) has caused. This was a genuine mistake on my part.

To clarify:-

1. Your Hendon Mob $ís accrued to 14.06.2013 remains redeemable.

2. However, any play on Genting Poker from that date will not accrue Hendon Mob $. You will, however, continue to earn Genting Poker points which are redeemable as per the standard Genting Poker VIP scheme.

I will update you shortly with more details on redeeming your HM $. Please can you ensure your email addresses on your Genting Poker accounts are up to date, so we can also email these details.

Finally, and again, my sincere apologies for the confusion I have caused. I hope the above clarifies my initial announcement. For those who are regular visitors to GPS Main Events, Iím sure youíll find me at a future one!

Many thanks

James

Hi James

Not great news is an understatement. Given (what I assume) is a good relationship with the Mob, how can you come on here and cancel a scheme with immediate effect ? I have over £200 in tournament buy ins that I have deliberately not used as building up to play a higher buy in event in the future. Is this money now lost ?

I'm confused by your statement, as you say that they will be able to be exchanged for cash or online buy-ins and then below says that they will no longer be valid ?

A clear explanation would be nice

The Genting Poker VIP scheme available on http://www.gentingpoker.com/vip has been running in conjunction with THM Tournament $. Whilst your Tournament $ have unfortunately been cancelled any points accrued on the Genting VIP scheme will still be valid.

FYP

James - this is a disgusting decision to not give any notice and effectively "steal" accrued benefits from everyone on this site.

I can assure you that I will be withdrawing all of my funds from Genting immediately and will not play on your sub-standard platform again.

I wish you the best of luck in your career

So I assume we'll be credited with points for THMF$ we earnt back when you didn't accrue points and $ at the same time?

Or are you effectively stealing the full value with no compensation?

When we start looking for another poker site/provider for The Hendon Mob games, can we spare a thought for Mac/IOS users (who are not supported by the Genting platform).

Genting Poker Cancel Sponsorship Dollars

We first became aware of this when we read it on our forum. So they are basically saying that the Sponsorship Dollar promotion is cancelled and that they are not honouring any of the dollars you have earnt and have been saving to play events. We have emailed them and are waiting a reply. We are working to resolve this and will post on this thread if there are any developments. For the time being all sponsorship dollar requests are suspended.

We apologise to all those effected.

If they don't honour the tournament buy ins, then I think the Hendon mob need to disassociate themselves from Genting, as this is basically theft, people have largely signed up from this forum out of loyalty to the mob, because lets face it the site is a pile of shit compared to pokerstars or full tilt, and isn't worth playing on based on its own merits and they are trying to fleece people on top of all the other issues there has been with the site - Genting cant just be allowed to cancel hard earned tournament buy ins because they feel like it

I am sure if the Hendon mob team back up with Full Tilt there will be overwhelming approval from the forum now that the issues have been resolved

Never ceases to amaze me how poker sites love to shoot themselves in the foot.

Can you imagine PokerStars handling something in this manner? No. Then everyone wonders why they're far and away the number one in the industry.

Take a look in this thread at the support shown by the community to Genting, amongst the number of monumental **** ups happening on a weekly basis: http://www.thehendonmob.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41153 In return you get into a new job, and turn round to slap the supportive members of this forum in the face by penny pinching on what I can imagine to be, what, £2,000? Of which you reclaim 10% of that in rake anyway.

Does that seem like a sound, and reasonable decision to you?

Good luck in your role, sounds like you'll need it. I'll personally be posting this on as many major poker forums as I can, and boycotting the rest of the GPS save for the online leg due to winning a ticket previously (assuming you decide to honour the ticket won, based on this decision who knows).

Congratulations on saving £1,800 though, I'm sure it looked very impressive in the email you sent to upper management.
