It with regret that Genting UK plc today announces that the Fox Poker Club will cease operation.

The Management and Staff of Fox Poker Club would like to thank all of it's customers for supporting the venture over the past two years.

Further information will be released shortly.

I may be wrong on this, but a poker club does not cease betting and close up shop with immediate effect unless something dodgy was going on.

I heard talk that they were trying to buy the offices above it and turn the whole place into Europe's largest poker room (even bigger than D2D). This was only a few months back.

Odd and suspicious turn of events given yesterday they held a GP Series final.

Especially as it's not long since Genting purchased the place, and even more recently the big game got moved there from Palm Beach

speculation elsewhere that this could be a prelude to a refurbishment and re-open as a casino

Probably more money in it having a casino than poker so could make sense.

The money has been made online, the real winner is Pokerstars and they deserve it imo! Very Happy

In a word, No. Whilst I am not party to the reasons for the closure (I work for Genting Alderney, a completely seperate business to Genting UK) I can confirm it was nothing to do with any sort of licence issue.

Horrible news, especially this close to Christmas. I hope all the staff are looked after and given other opportunities within Genting.
