do any Young people play the seniors event?
I don't think they are allowed.
OAPs also get things like discounts on some things and free bus passes.
.... and to balance things out, people under 30 get discounts at golf club where I play. Everyone happy now hopefully. _________________ "Brandon Uhl @BrandonUhl

errr no. young people get to be young. Also, F**k that i am going to start using the bus for nothing. i know this is a dangerous fight for equality, justice and freedom but i am prepared to face blue rinses and elasticated trousers in this fight.

happy for the young to be young and with good luck all will get to be old too one day.
Whether young or old, just have some respect for the feelings of others. That is not too much to ask of anyone.
I've always wondered why some people are such died in the wool tories or died in the wool socialists (like me). I think it is to do with whether people are looking after their own interests first or think of looking out for the interests of society first.
I don't mean to pass judgement on tories (or men playing in women's events) with that comment at all. I genuinely think it is an inbuilt genetic perspective that we each have and can't do much about. Maybe having both perspectives in the gene-pool is a very positive balance over time.
It could be that men playing in the women's event is just a symptom of a genetic effect that will ensure the survival of humanity!

Why is it deemed 'illegal' for the WSOP to enforce a rule that it should be a women only event ?
Whilst intitutes like Augusta National still enforce a 'Men Only' golf club, along with numerous other Gentleman (and Ladies) only clubs around the world, the WSOP organisers should just take away any potential controversy and enforce the rule and stop tarting around.

I think there are specific exemptions for clubs that were put in the legislation at the time (no doubt party at the wishes of the elite that wanted to protect their status quo). As a commercial event the WSOP doesn't have that shelter, legally. _________________ "Brandon Uhl @BrandonUhl

I'm assuming because there are reams of legislation which people, especially women, have fought for over the decades to eradicate discrimination on the grounds of gender. _________________ Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici

one word mate.....perspective. nobody fought, and died no less, so that women could not have fun in a poker tournament in vegas.
they, and men, fought and died so employment law, taxes, voting, glass ceilings, etc could be recognised and overcome.
this is not discrimination any more than only using white doves at the beginning of an opening ceremony is racist or discriminatory for that matter.
I think they should be got rid off as bracelet events, i disagree with nearly all of vicky's blog on almost every point. However to try to elevate this to an argument about freedom from discrimination undermines the very fabric of the discussion and hinder the proper outcome. _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.
