A female professional playing seriously doesn't seem to fit with the ethos of this tournament.

I personally would not enter a birds event, cos it just aint right. BUT How about somebody that is desperate to play a WSOP event, can afford $1k but not $1.5k.

er, see schedule for details of event 21, 33, 44, 54, 59. They are all $1k buyin this year. Ladies and seniors are seperate.

As you say though, it just ain't right to enter them anyway.

Darren 100% correct. Any man who enters these events needs to grow up and get a life.

They seem to get around the sex discrimination thing in most sports, or are women that bad at so much they don't get a chance to partake?

Those would be strength based, we even divide same sex groups up on that basis, e.g. boxing.

Basically yes, and thats not me being sexist just stating the facts. Been a couple of women in motor sport, I think 1 in darts but in sports like football etc they just wouldnt be strong or quick enough.

There are women only darts and snooker tournaments

I think that there are two separate points being discussed here.

- The merits of women only poker events and whether they should exist

- Men who play in women's only events, particularly the WSOP Ladies event.

The main context is point two.

I really have to agree with Vicky on this. Any man who plays in the WSOP ladies event is a bit of a knob tbh. I can just about bear it if one guy lost a prop bet and had to play it and did it with a bit of fun, but for a young hoodie to play because 'it's not illegal' just shows ignorance and lack of understanding and manners.

obviously this is due to us hunting with mini spears and a variation of clubbing very small animals. we moved to hunting dart boards and hitting ivory with clubs to save on cooking for the girls

I have just realised, after reading 2+2, that I have played with Brandon 'Two Hats' or 'Robocop' Uhl quite a bit during this years WSOP. He often played the $5/$5/$10 PLO games at the Rio and we chatted a bit. I think he had just turned 21 but looked younger.

He seemed to be a decent enough bloke, maybe not a complete knob playing the Ladies WSOP event but perhaps more than a little naive though. I just don't think he thought it through at all. I may be proved wrong if he plays again next year though.

I think this sums it up pretty well:

I'd say it's also a fact that women sometimes feel more intimidated and less enjoyment if a man participates. And if a thousand women want to play their own event, regardless of whether you agree with the concept, they should be able to. If you don't care and want to take that away from them for your own gain, you're a dick.

Oh no! If that is case then naive is most likely for sure. Robocop is a semi-regular on the Liveatthebike show (10 mins broadcast delayed cash game from Bicycle casino, L.A. that runs twice a week). He doesn't act like a moron on that show at least. I can't see him showing his face there for a while now.

He was also described as naive in the past by Bart Hanson on his deuce plays podcast, way before all this, because of his choice to go play cash during WSOP rather than staying in LA while the best players are all away.

He may have to switch to one hat + one balaclava for a while.
