What Personality? Because he cried?!? |

I appreciate the internal slant from Barny and Rob but he's a card player and plays for a living. He has been on TV many times. He knows how (lets be honest here) dull a game of cards can be viewed at times. The emotional bits are going to be edited in. Ask Tony G and Phil Helmuth who milk it for all it is worth.
I found the crying over a bad beat pretty cringeworthy stuff (despite people that will no doubt remind me about 5 days/been on a bad run/very tired/draining under the lights etc) type stuff. Can I use an excuse for Joey Bartons antics at the weekend, as he had a pretty good game up until that point? (poor example maybe).
As for the sulk about a bottle of water, if I ever acted like that in front of a room full of people I'd expect a mate to lamp me and when the dust had settled, thank him for it.
Take a one minute walk and grab a bottle maybe a better option (after informing the TD)
Came over as a total spoilt brat, even if he isn't. As Barny says, he may have paid the ultimate price under the editors knife but maybe this experienced TV player should have played the 'control of emotion' card a little better at this stage of his career?
I can't see you ever acting like that Barny, even if you hadn't slept for a week or had a drink for two days (unless you've been edited kindly, of course)

I think a professional poker player needs to be a touch more hardened to a situation he has no control over i.e which card may fall on the river. He did seem awfully over emotional throughout though, not just when he lost but throughout the whole hand and especially over the glass of water so maybe theres more to it than it first appears, as someone mentioned nobody knows whats going on in someone else's life/mind.
After watching the clip though there can't have been one person who was not willing a queen to appear on the river, the water incident was cringeworthy and pretty disgraceful imo, and his attitude was perfectly summed up by Frankenberger when Feldman trying to justify his rant says you had to wait an hour for yours, he mugs him right off by say yes but I didnt ask for it like that !! |

I applaud his opponent for putting up with it so gracefully. Delvilfish (and a few other players) might have given him a bit of stick. |

That's a rather sweeping statement. Sure you can.. I'm going to save myself the trouble of summing up a bunch of horrible things that qualify there that could easily counter that, cos I'm pretty sure you don't really mean it like that.
But suppose you made this statement on camera, and they chose to blur the context and only use the bold part to televise nationwide, then maybe a lot of people might think you actually do really mean that. People who know you might wonder what's gotten into you.
Someone would probably put it on Youtube, it would probably end up on a forum somewhere and the next thing you know, a bunch of people hiding behind screen names will go out of their way giving their opinion about it. and take no prisoners.
Too bad he acted that way over a glass of water. No one should. Too bad he lost control over his emotions; no poker player should. I'm guessing he regrets both things himself. At least he's passionate. _________________ Luck is the residue of design |

Getting rivered is a daily occurrence for poker players, losing your wife to a car crash is not.
He's been playing for what? 6+ years? He started his online career playing $1 SnGs according to his site, so at the very least he'll rivered once a day.
Taking 6 years, that's nearly 2400 days of playing, so we're talking at least 2400 suck outs. I very much doubt he reacts like that every time. I can imagine losing a HU when you're massive favourite, to go into a commanding chip lead and putting yourself very close to winning what would be your first major title is going to hit like a truck, but I can't help thinking his reaction a little bit over the top. My major issue is what happened shortly before.
Acting like a little baby over a glass of water, Frankenberger apparently 'waited an hour' and didn't seem fussed. It's cliche I know, but if you want to compare roll models/professionalism, who's the better man? I'll admit I found the video amusing, probably for the karmic justice served to him.
I don't know the man, so I'm hesitant to make an opinion of him, however from the media exposure you get of him, he doesn't come across in a positive light. Whether that's his real nature, or just unfortunate spin, I don't know. You could argue Helmuth/Tony G also come across in the same way, but you can tell they are both milking it. Feldman however, just seems to come across that way.
Does he deserve the flak? Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. He was definitely out of order for his comments about the water. For the crying? Who knows, he could of been playing up for the camera, he could have been genuinely distraught, or emotion got the better of him (I'll be the first to admit I have trouble controlling my emotion at times ) Anyway, can talk about this until the cows come home. As mentioned above, if he cried off set, this thread wouldn't exist. As far as Feldman is concerned, he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Would be interesting to post up Gazza's famous cry and see how people respond. |

| As soon as I saw him shouting at the floor person for not getting his water I wasn't impressed. A lack of manners is something that really gets on my nerves. He can cry all he wants, after watching the entire table, I feel the correct man won in the end anyway. I have never played in a Live event, but I am sure the floor people do a hard job and they certainly don't deserve to be shouted at. |

| After watching the video again, his behaviour seems very odd. I don't want to say what may be making him act like this, but I have my theories. |
