youtube-why no load!

anyone else having problems on youtube in the last few weeks/months maybe?

i used to be able to load a 3min song/vid in like 30seconds or whatever like when my connection is really good i have never experienced a loading/buffering issue.

now on youtube you have to watch the video as its playing like say if i was gonna jump in the shower i might open a few vids i want to watch after and open them all in seperate tabs so when i come back theyre all buffered ready to play.

but now if u do that they just sit there and wait at the start til u watch them

hard to explain


i googled it and seems lots are having same problem but i couldnt find a remedy so said id ask here???

Seems like they changed it so that it quickly buffers a portion ahead of wherever you move the slider and then it stops to wait for you to view it before it buffers more.

no im on '3' dongle

its like what freddy said it will only buffer enough just for u to watch that next bit then rebuffer.

like say i play a vid 4mins long and at 3:30secs i click back to 2mins it has to rebuffer all over again

3 may be throttling your connection to youtube, I had the same problems on virgin

if you haven't already tried lower the resolution

and when u say they might be throttling my connection to youtube.Would they be able to do that to certain sites i use?like it plays ok on various other sites.

they can shape traffic pretty much however they please

to change the resolution just click on the button on the video bar along the button that will say something like 480p 720p or whatever



the lower the number the lower the quality and the smaller the file size

i think it improved it slightly not as good as i used to have it but a little better.
