Bad Beat for 'Bad Beat'
Friday, April 20, 2012 6:58 pm
"Apart from one shove," shrugged Neil Channing. "I hadn't played a hand for three hours."

But the hand he did play ended up being his last, as Del Block proved bounty nemesis with yet another prize-awarding scalp.

With the blinds at 300/600 (running ante: 75), Block opened to 1,325 from UTG+1, a player in middle position called, and Neil shoved for 8,700 with K-K, a pretty solid hand for those nurturing a below-15 big blind stack.

Perhaps with one eye on the second bounty (he must have the munchies), Block made the call with 4-4 and commented "I thought you were at it" upon being shown the goods.

Although dominating, the board was so ugly it could have made an onion cry: A-6-5-8…

drum roll please, maestro…

7!
