Rashid Elqmache doubled through Ruslan Vlasov. He got his sub-50k stack in with against . The board brought no help. A few hands later in a battle of the blinds with the shortstacks Rashid gets it in against Leo and loses most of the chips he won…
Rashid
Leo
With both of the players having less than 6 big blinds and it being a heads-up pot everyone agrees it was a bit of a cooler. The board comes for Leo to hold.

Rashid recovers by again doubling up his shortstack. This time he has and Tim Maxwell makes a blind call for the 11,000 more from the Big Blind. It’s for Tim against for Rashid. The board pairs tens and the dealer almost splits the pot before Rashid points out there is a seven on the board too.
It’s a case of the usual suspects a few hands later when Leo and Rashid get it in again for another race…

The has an ace but is is all spades – pretty good for Rashid…
The turn is a brick
But it’s “ooo” time when the comes on the river to give Rashid his set. He doubles up his 99,000 stack to over 200,000 and relative safety.

First hand back after the break the two chipleaders go to war. It starts pretty innocently with a button raise to 56,000 on the button from Genting Poker Series Champion Ruslan Vlasov. Adrian Smith defends his big blind to the hilt and moves his 800,000 All-In. Ruslan thinks it’s Christmas and snap calls tabling his Aces.

Leo Lim doesn’t believe his luck. In the last ten minutes he has made £1,800 as the table shortstack just by folding and watching as he laddered up the money list. He giggles and jokingly offers a deal – “I’ll take anything!” he smiles.
His luck runs out however a in the next hand, he gets it in bad with against
The board ran out to send Leo smiling to the Blackjack table with £3,070

The three remaining players take a long break to look at chipstacks. Evaluate equity and eventually not come to an agreement. Ruslan with over 60% of the chips in play doesn’t see the need to give away too much. He’s not worried about coming third and play continues.
The chipstacks
Adrian 471,000
Jen-Yue 445,000
Ruslan 1,447,000
The prizes £20,970 left to play for…

2nd £6,470
3rd £4,130

The outcome of the tournament was held in the balance. Adrian and Ruslan played another All-In pot almost immediately in three handed play. Just as in the decisive previous pot it was another All-In preflop race but this time a coinflip. Again Ruslan raised, Adrian pushed and Ruslan snap called.

We hold our breath as the flop comes…
The turn is a breath-taking as Ruslan surges further into the lead.
Adrian calls for it, “I’ve been losing with Ace-King all day, surely I can’t lose four coinflips in a row”
The river card comes the and Adrian takes the chiplead from Ruslan

A regular fixture in Fox Poker Club Main Events and indeed events around the capital Jen-Yue Chiang has fallen in third place. He shoved his button with and Adrian re-shoved the small blind. Ruslan wisely gets out of the way…

The board was a freakish
We think one ace might have been enough. Quads just seems like showing off.
Jen-Yue Chiang wins £4,130 for his strong finish. We are sure we will see him back at the club for upcoming events.
