who should be next captain
all the obvious choices are 30+ now and while i can see gerrard getting it for the euros its about time to select a long term captain like wales have in ramsey.
i would make hart captain
any thoughts _________________ THMF 8 game champion 2010

I wouldn't go with Hart, leaves a difficult decision for the new manager. Will probably be between Hart and Richard's after the Euros. Oxade-Chamberlain certainly sounded like a future England captain during his interview today.
In the short term it's Gerrard or Barry, my preference would be Barry although he doesn't seem to be a popular choice. |

Unfortunately I think Parker is the best candidate.
But he isnt exactly first choice.
Rooney will be given the arm band imo |

I was advised this week by friend who works as an odds compiler on such markets that Parker to be captain for 1st game in euro's was outstanding value, I personally thought 4/1 was too short. |

Joe Hart as based on current form and fitness he is the most likely to be playing every game. |

| Jones has a soft face, like he'd cry if you hit him hard enough. Wilshere has issues but I think he'd suit captaincy, assuming he reaches his potential. |

This
Don't mean to be flippant about someone's thread but I am starting to care less and less about what happens with England as time goes by. Coming from someone who is as passionate and patriotic as they come then that is saying something. The last WC did it for me and I just cannot see us getting into contention to win a major tournament.
The entire international situation isn't conducive to success. Very little support for international football from the clubs and players and many clubs don't even care about the Carling Cup and Europa League so why should they care about internationals. It is all about money and what a mess it is. We have a manager who can't wait to leave, the no 1 candidate to replace him up for tax evasion who could be doing time by the time the euro's arrive and a captain who is up on race charges.
It is almost laughable _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |
