when you say you can't win online, what stakes/games are you talking about? what do you find the online players do better than the live players?

online and live poker is a completely different, online you can play up to 12 different games in one time whereas live poker you play one and one only,so in all fairness where is the skill in playing 12 games, the skill is pressing buttons and hope for the best !!!

Why can't you exploit people who are clicking buttons and hope for the best? perhaps the issue is you don't understand how to use tracking software and they do?

Isn't the skill in pressing the correct buttons and hope [sic] for the best?!

So the guy who is playing 12 tables at the time has the time to use tracking software on 120 players as he clicks buttons on 12 games,,

Are you saying that their ranges are never unbalanced in a way that you can exploit? that actually takes a lot of skill to mix up bluffing/value betting to the extent

Do they tend to play loose aggressive or tight aggressive? if they are playing tight/aggressive with balanced ranges that actually makes them tough players, if they are playing loose aggressive and are just randomly betting without balanced ranges, they should be fairly to beat, just trap them

As for tracking software you only need to use it when you are involved in a hand and you are not sure how to play, for example if you raise QQ in mid position get a couple of callers and a player from the blinds squeezes with a big 3 bet, if he has only a 1% 3betting frequency you can be sure your QQ is in trouble and you can fold, if he 3-bets 10% of the time and likes to follow up with a c-bet 90% of the time then you probably would be best to call and let him do the betting

On the other hand if you 3-bet aces and they shove over the top, you don't need tracking software to call do you, tracking software is for marginal situations, like should you be getting 3 streets of value with top pair vs a player (there is a stat that tells you how often somebody likes to go all the way to showdown)

Obviously the site allows you to colour code players as well, once you have a big enough stat sample you can just assign a visual code for a player

If it was a level playing field, then yes I would because I actually enjoy the game theory side of things i.e devising default ranges for common situations, I have to admit I do find playing 1 table very tedious, and am more of a 4 tabling zoom/rush poker type of guy (probably goes back to my love of 1 minute chess)

Obviously a huge part of online play is now statistics so its virtually compulsory to use them if you want to win, because many other people are using them, the trouble for the sites is that they need the multi table grinders to continue playing high volumes, if they ban software then its hard to multi table which means less rake for the sites, so although a minority complain, its just the way it has to be.

I have heard of some kind of anonymous tables, which neutralise the impact of software, because it does not show a screen name, and once you leave the table, an opponent using software would be none the wise if they encountered you in future. Obviously software only is effective when you have at least a few hundred hands (for identifying the really bad players), or perhaps even a few thousand in some cases (for identifying leaks in regs), which can take many sessions to acquire (I am thinking rush poker, where you are not watching the players and only see players actions if you continue in the hand against them)
