As a bit of a newbie to iPoker, can you let me know if the lack of mixed-game formats is a limitation of the Skin (Genting Poker), or the iPoker network itself?

Is this something that is likely to be addressed in the [near] future?

Genting poker has Omaha Hi/Lo (i.e. software can handle split games), Stud and Razz but no Stud8 - is this likely to be brought in at any future point?

My gripes / tips:

1) Sit and gos are pretty hard to find, especially with all the home games. Since you would only join a home game if you knew about it, these should be put somewhere else. it would also be good to be able to filter away the double-ups etc.
2) Late registration should be available. Maybe not for the amounts of time it is on stars, but at least for quarter/half an hour.
3) It would be good to get chat a bit bigger for hendon mob league banter
4) Sometimes i get timed out because the window doesn't make a noise / pop to the front. Am i doing something stupid here?
5) I spent 4 hours playing the $9,000 guarantee on saturday night. I thought it was a great structure and great fun, but I have now seen quads about ten times in 4 days at Genting. I didn't see it this often when I played rush every night! It took the biscuit on Saturday when I had KK and he had JJ, all in pre, and the board ran j4k6j. Tom - could you admit that it's all fixed?

Just a few things with the softwaI played 2 x 5 Dollar Double Ups (6 Man Top 3 Double Up) came in the money in both.
But during the 3rd game (4 People Left) the software starts playing up, it had been fine for 2 hours earlier, it started a massive lag and after a couple mins total freeze, i exited Genting and tried logging back in to no avail, System restart - The software loads my table up but gives me a ipokernetwork is down error code on the table.
Tried Live Support but they say nothing is up with the system (Ash was an idiot)

So now im down my 10 dollars, not a lot to some of you but for us micro stakers just starting off it is

I have been working since 4pm and we have no problems with the network or individual card room at all, as you can imagine, the software is monitored 24/7 for issues so we can resolve any issues before they hit the player however, I am working till 2am this evening, come and give me a shout on the LiveHelp and I will have a look at it for you.

Thanks,

Tom W

After speaking with tom last night the matter has been resolved, many thanks to him for helping me (Not a bum, just stating the truth)#

Also would like to echo the above post about timing out, no warning or nothing, hopefully this can get sorted soon as no doubt its a big gripe for everyone, even more when you on many tables

I grinded for 5 months last year on betfred, I have never seen anything like it, think it's just an ipoker quirk, hurts your head though.

Not just me then! Never lose so many hands with a boat as I have done on iPoker as well.

tbh there seems to be a lot of similarities with the way Sky Poker RNG works. There is an unbelievably high rate of monotone flops after multiple bets pre-flop. I am not an RNG conspiracy theorist by any means but I see that Genting is regulated and tested by the same org and company as Sky. I suspect it may be a bug in the RNG software rather than anything more dubious but after playing Sky for a year or so it does feel like I am using the same software now after spending the last few months on Virgin poker which felt more like a standard distribution.

It really doesn't matter who the regulators are because they do sweet FA apart from take our money, by proxy, in return for use of their logo. I haven't checked re: Genting but I don't think the regulators assess the RNGs anyway, that would be too much like hard work and is dealt with by other companies AFAIK. It's all irrelevant anyway as the players themselves analyse millions of hands over years (not a few hundred over 4 days) and any RNG issues would be very obvious.

The looser the game is the more it will appear something is up, because more hands get the chance to see a miracle river.

There is no escape, I just logged into Quake 3 and one of the players is complaining about the Pokerstars shuffling algorithm.

I know, I know. I am ashamed of myself for even believing it temporarily.

FWIW I believe that the regulators require that randomness of software is audited by competent authority and that they recognise the company that do the testing for iPoker and Sky.

Is iPoker monitored by external sites like PTR etc? If so then I agree it would be patently obvious that there is nothing shady there. I know that Sky wasn't, probably because of lack of customers/interest.

Either way my tilt is ended now and conspiracy theory consigned to where it should have been in the first place, nonsense.

I'm making Quake 6, "The Death Of Dwarves" Edition.

Almost a true story.

There are not as many mixed games on iPoker as on Stars....but....7 Card High <Low is about 5 days from being available...so happy days you mixed game fans!
