Nah, doesn't sound like sour grapes, we really weren't at our best today, it would appear the involvement in too many competitions and heavy fixture list have taken its toll.
I couldn't even pick a man of the match, although Mikel was excellent as he has been throughout the RDM period
World class from Cech, but likr you say, should never have been given the chance, and thank God Carroll didn't come on any earlier, he caused us more problems in 20 minutes than Messi did in 3 hours, although Terry did do his best to make him look like Messi for the goal |

| I've been out all day with my closest mates who happen to be of that persuasion. My £30 2-2 @ 16/1 should have been rewarded surely? They know my feelings on the matter, I hate the rs, not my friends who support them. |

Do you think the whole ball was over the line? From first look I was 100% sure it was a goal, and the air may have turned blue *ahem* briefly...but after seeing replays they got it spot on, I would say maybe 80/90% of the ball may have been over the line but not all
World class save from Cech |

Dunno mate, my bet is what I thought would happen, just watching the replay now, that was over. |

Sorry your bet didn't come in mate, was a good shout
Saw enough replays today, and not one showed the WHOLE ball over the line |

Yeah seen the photo's and replays and it is inconclusive as the angle isn't perfectly inline (my gut feeling is that it isn't fully over the line). I can feel myself willing it to go just an inch or so further and then I can say 'oh we were harshly done by' but in truth that decision wasn't the reason we lost today. |

| Didn't look over to me from the side-on shot, various mash-ups doing the rounds making it look close. Apparently Wembley doesn't have http://www.venatrack.com, unlike all PL grounds, so any computer generated image isn't definitive. |

Wasn't the reason you lost no, but if that goal is given, there is only one winner, given the way the momentum was going.... |

That subsitute appearance was comfortably his best performance of the year, even though he missed a sitter with the header (great save from Cech, but shouldn't of given him the chance), at least he gave the Chelsea defence a lot of problems.
I hope this doesn't sound like this is sour grapes (because it is not my intention), but I don't think Chelsea played well at all, I thought they were organised in the first half and benefitted from poor defensive lapses by LFC. Never did I think they were playing that well at any stage and for the first hour, they were playing against a team who were just so slow in their passing and approach, it was so easy for them.
A better performance by Chelsea in the first hour could of put the game beyond LFC. In the last 30 mins, it was a decent attempt by LFC to get the game to extra time and were a touch unlucky IMO.
Obviously over the balance of the 90 mins, LFC didn't do enough to say that they deserved a positive result and I think there will be a lot of regrets tonight, as that was a game they could and should of done better in. |
I was there yesterday and couldn't believe how poorly your boys had been set up by King Kenny. Suarez was completely isolated and didn't get any support from midfield. Downing and Spearing were beyond awful but closely followed by the rest of the team. Chelsea were there for the taking - we scored 2 good goals but didn't create much else and looked tired. Thank goodness we can rest everyone for 2 weeks before the CL final. When Carroll came on he was outstanding (which I know is out of character for him !) but the ball didn't cross the line for the 2nd "goal" and i think the better side over 90 minutes won.
I have to say one thing that has been disgracefully unmemtioned by the media for fear of the usual Liverpool backlash but their fans booing of the National Anthem was a disgrace. This wasn't the one or two idiots that every club has - this was thousands of people. What on earth is wrong with them ? What was the reason for it ? I haven't heard that from them before. |

Tactically is should have been much simplier for Liverpool, putting Bellamy on the left would have cause Bosingwa no end of problems
And lol at Henderson, a £20m joke, can't believe he still gets in the team
The reason Liverpool fans boo the National Anthem? Because the Queen didn't pay a visit after Hillsborough. Short memories though, the FA played ball and changed their semi-final fixture date... |

Didn't see the game, but good result for Chelsea. Still a little bitter that Liverpool won the Carling cup due to a bad ref in the City semi so WP |

A lot more to it then that, there could be considered a general 'anti-establishment' feeling within the Liverpool area citing a number of root courses, plus there is certainly a lack of love for the Germans
Spoke today to a couple who went and they were in the group who were trying to sing YNWA during it, but said there was other sections booing the anthem.
Don't really see why the media should report it as a disgrace, because the booing of opposing national anthems has been common place in this country for decades and it would be hypocritical to suddenly be up in arms because the British anthem has been booed for a change. The media don't even report when the most disguisting of songs are been sung on a weekly basis.
Indy, you should get over it, on a day your club should be celebrating a fantastic performance at Newcastle, the last thing on your mind should be a 2 legged semi-final affair when your team didn't turn up at all and hardly caused the LFC defence at all.
If I wasn't an original member of the ABU brigade, I would want QPR to get a result next week, just to ruin your summer |

Hadn't heard about the booing of the National anthem, but to boo your own anthem has to be pretty low. Shame on them. |

Tell me a club who haven't had fans act out of line at some point !!!
Maybe ur owners can buy ur team a new set of fans, as I know there has been issues.
We shouldn't derail the thread though, it belongs to chelsea now. |
