and scholes retired after portugal due to us moving him to left wing to accommodate the free scoring lumplard. i dont need to tell anyone what a mistake that was considering how abysmal he has been for england when given a chance. one of the greatest attacking midfielders i have ever seen with the same goal to game ratio in his first 20 odd games as owen and we move him to accommodate the proverbial and quite literal white elephant. rant over

the only one not bought as a full international was hart. whats the age limit for the "young" players?

You can sort of see his point. Everyone always whinges on about having no winter break, but it seems Ok to play all summer.
The other thing everyone whinges about is how much footballers get paid. If I was paying Rooney £250k a week I'd want him fit and rested as much as possible for the season.

tbh i think it should be the kids anyway. this overage player nonsense is a crock of shite to get a few big names in the squad to raise the profile. should just be the kids in a semi throwback to amateur status
