Tried a couple of the new timed tournaments over the weekend and wasn't really impressed with the structure of the 30 minute turbo's, are there any plans to increase the time limits and build in structures that it more like poker and less like bingo ?

Kudos for trying something new BTW

Hey thanks for your feedback pony. I will pass it to the relevant department. Time tournaments are a new introduction and we are looking for player feedback on them. I do not know of any plans at the moment, but with player feedback, we can make any changes that will improve the format.

Hey all,

I hope you are well and good. Thanks for the subliminal message, not seen one of those since the 80s!

In regards to Badugi Heads up games, there is simply not enough players to justify splitting the Badugi cash players into two distinct segments. If we introduced HU Badugi then there would be a liquidity issue.

We also believe that heads up cash games are predatory, this is why you will not see that many heads up cash games on the site, in particular reference to limit games, which are generally solved games.

That being said, I have passed on your comments to those in charge and they are aware that people want these games, if there is enough demand and it will not cause liquidity issues then we can seriously think about adding them. At the moment, there is are not enough players, nor is there enough demand.

Please let me know your thoughts,

Hi Jonny, thanks for the response.

I think one of the reasons the liquidity of the badugi games has sometimes struggled is the failure to offer half pot limit. IMO this could have attracted another group of players that enjoy the different challenges and plays possible above and beyond the limit format. Maybe it wouldn't have done - we will sadly never know.

I don't think HU tables would kill liquidity.
If I am looking for a 8 seat game i sit in it.
If I am looking for HU I sit at a couple of empty tables by myself and wait for someone to
join me. Someone sits and within a minute a third person will crash the party and then probably a forth. I leave as soon as this happens. The people who join the HU games in third and forth spots are not leaving an existing game, they continue to play the games they are already in, they are generally regs looking for some short handed easy pickings.

To call HU predatory is pretty funny because I think predatory is kinda a good word to describe the whole business and game of poker, so its a bit weird to differentiate against HU. I would call the use of HUD and poker tracking software as predatory and damaging to your business but I think we already went there somewhere earlier in this thread Razz .

Anyway I think I understand your concern over the 'predatory' nature of HU as it goes against your desire to keep players playing for as long as humanely possible. In this instance your preference is to maintain player bankroll rather than provide the most comprehensive poker offering and the most demanded game option. Is that right?

Finally, in your last paragraph Jonny you say that people want these games but there is not enough demand?! Well I think probably 65 / 70 % of players want HU tables. Thats about as much demand as you are ever going to get !

In all honestly though, I probably need to sincerely thank you for not offering these games as I probably would have bust my roll many many months ago, so maybe its for the best. Now if you could just get the Chinese Goverment to open itself up to an exclusive agreement with Pokerstars to offer Badugi to its population I might be happy.

Hey Moosey,

Thank you for your considered and well articulated points, I will pass them onto the Ring Games Manager for their perusal. We can only improve with feedback such as this, so if anyone else has any other points they want to make, please let us know.

Heya,

No need to feel embarrassed! It is cool to make new threads, but if we keep everything in the PokerStars VIP Thread, then other people can use the answers given.

The answer to your question is that if you deposit x on Skrill (Moneybookers) then in order to cash out to your bank account, you will first need to cash out x to your Skrill account, anything above the initial deposit can then be processed to your bank account.

I hope that you found this useful, feel free to peruse the thread for any other answers you might need and feel free to post any questions that have not been asked.

Take care,

Jonny,
evening ....brace yourself... Razz

For the first time in months in fact probably over a year I had a proper look in the Tourny window. Was fancying having a break from my usual sit n go's and playing something scheduled with a manageable number of entrants 1k-2k max runners that gave some decent money up top.

Basically, everything I clicked on that was upcoming had 60 minute extended reg.

Massive , massive, massive turn off. I would imagine its a fifty fifty split between lovers and haters of this feature but I won't play anything with late reg. So I got bored of looking for something I could enter when I clicked on 6 in a row that had 1 hr late reg. I gave up and played one on PKR instead.

If you are going to saturate the tourny lobby with Late reg stuff please please please put an option in the tourny filter to be able to totally cut them out of the list. I can handle a ten or fifteen minute late reg but not this hour baloney.

If there is a way of doing this and I haven't seen it ( pretty likely ) then please accept my apologies and I will be very grateful if you can tell me how !

Thanks as always

Hey Moosey,

Thank you for taking the time to articulate your thoughts on late registration. All MTT tournaments have the late registration feature in place. We were wondering if you could elaborate further on why you do not like this feature? Feedback is essential for improvement, the more defined the feedback, the more we can improve.

Thanks,
Jonny C

We will be releasing a client update over the next few days. Here is the list of the most important features added:

Hotkeys (Beta)

We will be releasing a Beta version of hotkeys in this build (Windows clients only). This feature has been tested by a small group of players on TestPokerStars over the past month and we are opening the feature to a wider audience for testing and more feedback.

In a nutshell, the feature allows you to configure keyboard/mouse shortcuts for various game actions. You can configure your PokerStars hotkeys by going to "Options" > "Hotkey Settings".

Hotkey actions include: Fold, Check, Bet / Raise, Set Bet amount to X% / BB / All in (with the option whether to bet or just set the bet amount), Activate next / previous table and some others.

You can also control which table would receive the hotkey -- the one that is active or the one that is under the mouse pointer. You can even specify a custom color for a table border that highlights the table to receive the hotkey!

We are very much interested in feedback about this new feature, so please email us yours at beta@pokerstars.com.

Easy Seat (Beta)

We have made a number of minor improvements to Easy Seat based on the results of the wider testing. The two most noticeable bugs we fixed were Easy Seat attempting to seat players despite them being at table cap and adding players to over-long waitlists.

Easy Seat will remain in Beta for this month to be sure that we have worked all the issues out. If you would like to test out Easy Seat, please go to "Options" > "Lobby Display Options" and select "Show Easy Seat (Beta)". For best results you should enable Auto-Buyin to make the process as seamless as possible.

If you have any feedback about this new feature, please email us at beta@pokerstars.com. You can find more information about Easy Seat here.

Time Tournaments

We are making some final adjustments to the messaging associated with Time Tournaments and are planning to deploy a wider offering this month. Stay tuned for more updates!

Improved Table Animation (Beta)

We continue to work on improvements to the table animation to make the playing experience as nice as possible for our players. This build we are tweaking the “Full (Beta)” animation settings. We have made the animation smoother and have slowed it down a bit. Players on the default "Simplified" animation setting will not experience any changes.

If you want to try out the new animation simply go to “Options” > “Table Display Options” > “Animation” and select “Full (Beta)”. Any feedback on the Beta animation can be sent to beta@pokerstars.com.

As always, we have also made a number of other minor fixes / improvements to the client and server. These include highlighting the Notes tab after assigning a label, fixing a bug with the always apply labels option when detached chat is active, and a bug in the Hand Replayer where the flop was disappearing for Nova Theme Users.

Note: The above changes would only take effect once your gaming client has been updated, which could happen at different times for different players. Please ensure you are running PokerStarsUpdate.exe to get the update.

Hi Jonny,

To keep it brief, I want to be able to look at upcoming tournaments, order them by state (registering) and enrolled, see whats going off in the next 10 or twenty minutes, think oh that NLH turbo going off in 5 mins with 387 runners might be fun, have a quick look at the levels / structure and think great I will play that it should finish in x hrs and will pay about $x for first. Perfect I think i will give it a whirl.

That's not possible.

I have been using the new easy seat and it is a nice new addition to make the pokerstars software the best out there however if I was to make one change it would be to include a filter for "players saw flop" &/or "average pot size", or if you don't want to include this then on the buy-in screen that pops up for each table you could include those stats there.

thanks

Something that has bugged me off and on for years...

Happily grinding away and all of a sudden the news popup randomly appears over one of my tables and locks me out from making any actions...

I understand the need for players to know the news (I certainly make sure to look through it when it pops up when I log in) but having it pop over tables and lock us out of any actions is pretty OTT to say the least and seriously messes with the massively multitabling grinders.

Oh and I got super excited when I saw the announcement about double guaranteeds... Sighed pretty soon after when I saw the details... Again, something that would do very well to be extended to all 'red' tournaments at minimum Smile

I have always figured that when that happens it is because you have been momentarilly booted from the site and when your connection is almost immediately re-made the welcome popup appears.
