| Mayweather ducks Manny for three years and we get matchups like this. Is boxing dead? |

Sky have supposedly dropped PPV for a while because people just aren't paying up to watch due to fights like Ordinary Harrison not delivering. _________________ Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici |

Mainly because they think that the public are numpties who will believe any old crap that they say and pay whatever they ask. Ordinary fights and ordinary fighters are hyped to death into something that they are not and fights built up to be something that they are not. Still they really earn their money because selling a mis-match must be a bloody hard slog _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

Is it any wonder why fans are turning away.....it was bad enough before PPV with numerous different divisions and multiple world champions at each weight but to have to pay for it as well
To me an analogy can be made with boxing and satellite television.......too many channels leads to poor quality programs and the same applies in boxing. Too many divisions is leading to ordinary fighters getting title shots who in days gone by wouldnt have had a look in. The average fight promotion now is nothing but spin and is crap food being served up with loads of sauce to mask the taste.
As usual the public are getting screwed over by businessmen who don't stop to think where their big fat profits are coming from and the effect of that. _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

Bang on the money - I am not the most knowledgeable boxing fan but there are only a handful of boxers in the last 5 years who could be truly described as top draw who would of got a shot at titles in the 60's / 70's / 80's or 90's _________________ If i want a monkey i get a monkey! |
