After spending most of the day wallpaper stripping I said to the Mrs at half six I'm gonna go and play some golf...and I can't actually believe what happened...shot 80
Because I was literally running around the course to make sure I got the 18 in, I had no real idea what was happening, sure, I had a little idea maybe, par, par, bogey, bogey etc
Only one double bogey all round, 6 pars and one birdie, still buzzing now, and my short game wasn't half as good as it was the other day when I shot 83
New putter is working wonders for me, and once I get used to the 60degree wedge, everything within 100 yards should seem a lot easier
Gagging to get out again now....and no doubt shoot 120, just so that normality is resumed _________________ p.s you are just jelly that a dramabomb happened on here and you wasn't involved. |

Wow, excellent work there.
Scoring 80 is fantastic stuff, soon be into the 70s by the end of the month I reckon especially with the wedge working its magic _________________ The coalition is waning and dying, the only option is to vote Labour in 2015~ Teacher Dave |

Yeah, gonna work 100% on my short game now whenever I get the chance, my eight and nine irons failed me somewhat last night, otherwise I would have broken 80, return leg with Cliffy at Ruislip on Friday....taking a 2 shot lead in...against a 14 handicapper LOL
Probably shoot the usual 110 _________________ p.s you are just jelly that a dramabomb happened on here and you wasn't involved. |

80 is a superb round. what course you playing at. I shoot in the 90s myself only a few brief journeys into the highs 80s. Bloody hard game. lol _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.

Hey mate, saw this and thought of you....might be worth asking the other players on here but looks good value to me

Anyone have anything around this price range that they would recommend? Can be more though ofc. Don't need a bag really but wouldn't mind getting a new one. pretty much a whole set would be decent. |

I'm still buzzing mate!
Really looking forward to Friday, more difficult course is Ruislip, so looking forward to being brought back down to Earth
The course I have shot 83 and 80 on this week is Hersham, don't know whereabouts in Surrey you live mate, but Silvermere do a fantastic £10 twilight offer, now that IS a tough course
Chiplead, go to your local American Golf, they are always very helpful and will let you hit into nets and they have a computer programme that shows how well you are hitting the ball
...then shop around at places like GolfDirect.com, but tbh American Golf is a real price leader anyway _________________ p.s you are just jelly that a dramabomb happened on here and you wasn't involved. |

No need to panic about getting good, hit a shoddy 98 at Ruislip on Friday afternoon

| Think of it this way mate, the worse you are the more calories you expend, so not all bad. Unless you are playing GIR and 3 or 4 putting. |

....no such luck, you're right though, more calories were burnt, as I insist on playing more of the course and taking more strokes
Nice silver lining found, Sir _________________ p.s you are just jelly that a dramabomb happened on here and you wasn't involved. |

Good finish, an eagle off that handicap though, tut tut |

Well played Bill
I meant to bump this thread last week when I went for my first round of the year...112 ffs, normal service resumed
Had a lesson last week, and another one yesterday morning, going to try and put the hours in on the range before embarrassing myself on the course any further
Pro reckons not too much to worry about....only the grip, the lack of striking down on the ball, rubbish swing plane, not enough turn...
He says he sees a lot of potential though... _________________ p.s you are just jelly that a dramabomb happened on here and you wasn't involved. |
