Mustafa Sepanji Survives.
Lee Birchall limps UTG and it's raised to 16,000 by Zachary Ford. Mustafa Sepanji calls and leaves himself with only 9500 chips, Gregory Garrett and Birchall both make the call.
The flop is: 7 K J
Birchall bets out 15,000 - Ford folds, Sepanji sticks his 9500 in and Garrett folds after him.
Sepanji shows A 7 for bottom pair and Birchall reveals A Q
The turn and river of 4 K gives Sepanji a much needed pot.

Ford crashes
Zachary Ford piles the pressure on Lee Birchall with a bet on the river that puts Birchall all in. The board is 3 6 A 8 2 and Birchall doesn't like having to play for his tournament life so close to the money. There is around 105,000 in the pot already and Birchall has about 39,000 left.
If he still wanted to play his hand on the flop the 8 and 2 shouldn't have changed much but he agonises over the decision for a long time before eventually sticking it in. He shows A J and Ford nods and mucks his hand.
Birchall is delighted and understandably so - it's a big pot that will put him in a good position now.

Birchall sucks out and rubs down
A huge pot has just played out on table 1. With 20k in the middle and Q T 9 on the board, Luke Abolins bet 7k. Mustafa Sepanji called and Gregory Garrett raised to 37k. Lee Birchall, who had everyone else covered, thought for a while and then asked Garrett how much he had behind. The answer was 90k. Birchall then pushed all-in. Abolins and Sepanji withdrew and Garrett carefully considered his options before calling with T 9 for bottom two pair. This was comfortably ahead of Birchall's A 3 . The turn A gave Birchall extra outs but he didn't need them since the river 4 made the flush he was seeking. Birchall and his hangers-on started shouting and screaming before Birchall trained his sights on the hapless Garrett, berating him for calling and informing him he was a fool and had just cost himself at least £1,000 in prize money. It seemed not to matter to Birchall's argument that he was a 2/1 underdog in the hand, but there are many players to whom odds matter little. Garrett left the table in dignified silence.

Still Heer
Pav Heer moved all-in for 16200 in early position and was called by Zachary Ford in middle position. There were no more takers. A Q for Heer, A J for Ford. The board fell Q A K 7 3 and Heer more than doubled up.

McWilliam busts
Big pot on table 3. We join the action with 50k in the middle and a board of T 6 2 8 . Bryan Donovan checks and Ian McWilliam bets 15k. Donovan limit raises to 30k and McWilliam calls. Donovan checks when the 5 hits the river and McWilliam moves all-in for around 40k. Quick call by Donovan and he tables 8 8 for a turned set. McWilliam can only muster one pair with 7 7 and hits the rail in 20th place.

Bubble cash
The players have agreed to take £550 off the top and award it to the player finishing 21st. This means the bubble boy (or girl) will get their entry fee back. |

Hanninen Finnished
Niko Hanninen moves all in for 35,500 and Skull Man Gerald David thinks a little before calling on the button.
Both blinds fold and Hanninen shows that he was just trying to take down the money on the table with K 9 Skull Man is well ahead with Q K but he doesn' t like the flop of 3 9 6
The turn and river are better for him though - J and 3 give him the flush and Hanninen is out.

Ryder cut
Zachary Ford raised in early position and Raymond Ryder moved all-in on the button. It was folded back to Ford who eventually called. Ryder had A Q and, much to everyone's surprise, Ford could show nothing better than A 6 . However, it proved a shrewd investment as the board ran out T 3 6 K 8 sending the unfortunate Ryder to the rail.

Larry skint
Larry Bale moves the last of his chips in and sees Bryan Donovan call from the button. It's not a huge amount more for Peter Ioannou to call in the big blind and he's feeling adventurous - he calls blind.
Donovan and Ioannou check it down all the way on a 2 3 Q 4 9 board.
Bale has missed with his A 9, as has Donovan with A 10 so Ioannou checks his cards for the first time........4 6 is good enough and we hear "Bown chicka wow wow" resound across the casino floor again. Larry Bale makes his exit.

Lynne Beaumont now all in
Lynne Beaumont doesn't have much left and she sticks it in hoping to collect the blinds and antes. She's a few off the button though and has a lot of hands to get through, and finds that she's going to get looked up straight away as Alistair Findlay calls immediately on her left.
Everyone else folds and Lynne finds she's well behind Findlay's J J with her 7 8
It's a great flop of 7 9 8 for Beaumont as she takes the lead with two pair. Findlay goes on to improve on both the turn and river though and 10:heart: A give the lead back to him and Beaumont hits the rail.

G Rodger doubles up
Bryan Donovan bets 6K pre-flop. Rodger calls. The flop is A 7 6 Donovan bets 6K more. Rodger's raises to 18K is followed by Donovan's call. The turn is 8 . Donovan bets 25K. Rodger thinks for a sec and goes all-in with the remaining 50K chips. Donovan calls without hesitation. The river is 5 . Rodger reveals 9 8 and Donovan is disappointed that his A A wasn't good enough.

3 way all in
Luke Abolins moves all in for 54,800 and Peter Ioannou calls from the cut off. He's probably not too keen to see Ben Chisholm also move in behind him on the button though.
The blinds fold and we see that Abolins has 7 7 , Ioannou has A J and Chisholm holds A K
There is no improvement for anyone as 3 9 3 K 3 pop out and Abolins wins the main pot to treble up. Chisholm takes the side pot and Ioannou probably wishes he'd never called such a big bet with AJ. |
