Are you allowed to buy chips at the cage with a UK Debit Card? and can you also get your winnings back in the same way - straight back to your account?

If I load up money onto a visa electron travel card thing (ie not credit card, so shouldn't be a cash advance fee), am I still going to get rhaped by the withdrawal fees in casino's in vegas?

I am hearing all sorts about $50 processing fees. just thinkign as well if I take a card I am limiting myself to losing a max of $1000 a day which would also be a good idea, but if I wanted to take this much out am I going to get pwned?

Other point to note is that as this is a holiday money card thing, the money has been loaded on in USD

Can you buy travelers checks in the UK? May be your best option and then just convert when you need to out here....honestly for the amount you are talking about I would just bring cash, but I am comforatbale carrying that amount on me, some are not. You will most likely be hit be ATM withdrawal fees at a minimum which at casinos can be harsh. Whenever I travel abroad I usually just pony up and take the hit and use my credit card at ATMs(non-casino)....I avoid almost all fees by settling up with the card company when I get home....I find I get the best/near best conversion rates and the bank fees for me are less than conversion fees/time and hassle. I don;t get nixed a currency conversion fee on my card either(check on this as many finanacial institutions are now applying small currency fees on all purchases abroad)

looking to go to Vegas again next year. Last year I flew Virgin economy and this time around I am going with friends that are keen to have an upgrade. Anyope have any views on whether virgin premium economy is worth paying an extra 500 for the return trip per person?
I have flown BA world traveller plus which was 300 return so 500 seems a bit steep?

In general Virgin PE is a better product than BA WT+.

I would willingly pay a 500 premium from LGW-LAS if I was going to be on one of Virgins aircraft that typically service LHR.

Sadly that is a rare occurance. The LGW are the 'black sheep' of the Virgin family and the PE seats do not match up to their LHR bretherin.

Depending on what the economy fare was, 500 could be seen as a cheap upgrade. If in total the PE flight was 800+ I would not go for it.

If anybody is not yet a member of Virgins frequent flyer programme and want to join, put a note in this thread and a fellow member can refer you, as a result you both recieve bonus miles. For the record, my referalls are all used up, so this is not for my benefit.

Probably best to check out allvegaspoker, linked to in the OP, section 4.

I am not much a an mtt player but I think Venetain leads the way with well structured tournies.

Wynn changed to a new structure in the summer, I think this has changed yet again, not sure what numbers they are drawing but I do know that the Wynn poker room is currently VERY quiet.

Caesars is the other room that has a good structure, although not as popular now as when they had the $135 tournies when they first opened.

And FWIW, Vegas poker rooms are VERY quiet at the moment. I spoke with my friend in town last night and he said only the Venetian and the Orleans were busy.

Wynn had 1 game running on Saturday morning at one point. Their 10/20 o8 game hasnt run for nearly a week.

The Mirage is like a ghost town.

Hopefully it al picks up before next week because I am heading back and really dont wanna have to play 1/3nl.

I tend not to post many of the hotel special offers that come along, not wanting to be labelled a spammer and also thinking that me posting a deal will not inspire anybody to go to Vegas.

I guess I am reactive not proactive. However the Orleans promo posted this morning seems to have had quite a few views and a couple fo replies, so here are a couple of cheap as chips deals in vegas for Nov/Dec.

Via expedia.com

Binions is bogof, $27/night, if you book 4 nights coupon code fan50 will get you $50 off, so 4 nights for around $15 inc taxes and fees. Due to the bogof nature, multiples of 2 are required to maximise this deal.

My personal choice of lower end hotel would be Stratosphere, book 3 nights for ~$90 use the expedia coupon for a $50 discount.

Wynn $119/night midweek, $159/ night weekend with $150 in slot play. PM me your email for this link. Again I am not an affiliate but with Wynn I think i have to provide them your email then they forward you the email.

Golden Nugget have 3 nights for $99 in Oct or another promo, that is buy one room get one free, so if you are going as a crowd this could be helpful, again PM if you want the offer forwarded to you.

Many if not all of these offers + many more will be in the fatwallet thread linked in the OP.

I'm no expert but I have played on the Calloway 9 hole course which was plenty for me. They have a driving range and it's reasonably priced. Make sure you get a cart to drive around and take drinks although they have a drinks cart that drives around as well. You can also rent clubs and they have a shop and restaurant.
I searched for it and I think this is it:
