My thoughts are that if he don't want to get shot, don't drive about with guns. I don't give a toss whether he threw the gun out of the window or not, the fact he is driving about with one, what did he expect if collared?

Also had Trident all over him, not really a good sign. Getting sick of it being used a race card though, he would of got shot if he was white i'm sure.
Few years ago in Chelsea, I think, some geezer went beserk in a flat and got shot and he was white

Here are some facts

The jury returned a verdict that the gun was thrown over the fence by Duggan and that he did not have it on him when he was shot.
The officer who shot him testified that he had a gun in a sock and that the barrel was poking out of a hole, when he shot him.

So either the officer is wrong or the jury is wrong - it can't be both.

Add to this that a witness claims he was holding a mobile phone and had his hands raised, and two witnesses saying they saw a police officer retrieving the gun from the back of the cab. Also none of Duggan's DNA found on sock or gun (only on the box), and not a single officer witnessed him throwing it.

Something just ain't right.

Thats the point neil, that everyone over looks!

its ok everyone saying this and that about the verdict, i feel for the officer that did this, as its not an easy thing to do or to come to terms with once its done, and it would all been done so fast as you dont have time to think! (if you think your dead!) and then what would everyone say!! He did what he had to do but now he has to live with it! right or wrong he did his job, now say officer had not shot him and he killed a passer buy or even one of them, everyone would be saying they should have acted faster!

just one Question for everyone! what would you have done!!

just IMO.

I'm sure he didn't shoot, thinking, yeah here's an unarmed criminal, i'll just gun him down, woo hoo.
He was probably scared, probably pumped up on adrenaline, probably believed it was the right thing to do , at the time. Who can blame him? Who would do his job? With that risk, for so little thanks and reward?

BUT

On the balance of the evidence - he made the wrong decision. At worst he lied about it afterwards, at best he was pressured into a cover up.

Example of a cover up: night of the shooting, the IPCC claimed Duggan shot first, and maintained that until 3 weeks after the death, then said they knew he didn't shoot at all and that they had lied purpose. I mean wtf?!

So was his training inadequate? Was the operation bungled?

On one hand, if you walk around with a gun you're asking for it. On the other hand, police are lying brainless scum. Looks like a wash.

That Duggan fella should have grown up and realised that playing with guns ends in tears.

I blame his parents for the whole thing.

He fathered 6 kids who is going to support them now that this model hard working UK citizen has passed away?

The police only suspected he had a gun. The gun was not found until after he was shot. Are you saying police should shoot anyone they suspect of having a gun?
