I am not sure if this has been covered before, but want to ask anyway.
3 players in a raised pot.
Flop action: MP bets and gets a call from CO and a fold from EP.
Turn: MP bets and calls a raise from CO. MP has put 60 - 65% of his stack from when the hand began.
River gets checked by both players.
Showdown: Dealer asks to show hands. After a few seconds of dithering, CO shows flopped 2nd Pair and MP folds.
My questions:
1. Who (has to) show/s first?
2. Can any player ask to see MP's folded hand? These are not mucked yet and can be identifiable. Is it an etiquette question?
3. If no set rules, is it Club/Casino dependent and their own rules? Would like to hear from Genting representative as the scenario occurred at one of their venue's
PS Board was uncordinated and no flush draws, not that it should matter.
Here are the two Genting rules that apply to this situation:-
12. Showdown Order
In a non-all-in showdown, at the last round of betting, the player who made the last aggressive action must show first. If there was no bet in the last round, the player to the left of the button show first and so on clockwise.
Last Man Standing - If after the last round of betting on the river, the action is heads up and the aggressor mucks his hand after being called, then the player who called does not need to show his hole cards to claim the pot, the aggressor cannot request to see the caller’s cards, as he has relinquished all rights to the pot by mucking he has also relinquished all rights to see the caller’s cards.
14. Asking to see a Hand
Except where house policy requires a hand to be shown or provides an express right to see a hand on request, asking to see a hand is a privilege granted at the TD’s discretion to protect the integrity of the game (suspicion of invalid hand, collusion etc). This privilege is not to be abused. A player who mucks his hand face down at showdown without fully tabling it loses any right he may have to ask to see any hand. I know these are the TDA (copied verbatum) rules and I presume Genting rooms don't have a "House Policy" requiring a hand to be shown on request.
Also the highlighted/added sentence makes it virtually impossible to detect/report collusion, etc. I am not saying this was the case in the posted hand.
Maybe I am missing a point or reason from above rules and would like a discussion or reason why from more knowledgable players than I.
