When you have fantastic reading ability of the game, you can have a yard less pace and still be world class. To a lesser degree than Mooro as he was simply the best, I'll give you Teddy Sherringham. Another player not noted for speed but his ability to read meant that less speed was ultimtely insignificant due to superior reading of situations before others on the pitch.
Moore was good in the 1966 and 1970 World Cups but I saw him play poorly quite a few times. If you want to see one of his important howlers look at Poland's second goal in the 1973 World Cup qualifier on youtube. He did that sort of thing quite often at Fulham. However he is of course a legend because he led us to a famous victory. Anyway we will never completely agree on this so Ill leave at that.

Quality post. That George Best was rubbish too - did nothing at Hibernian
Bobby Moore played for Fulham between the ages of 33-36. No-one would deny those weren't his peak years as they generally aren't for any footballer.
If you want to judge him on a mistake in a world cup qualifier and his final years in English football, fine. Thank goodness you do think he had a couple of good world cups though ffs. Forget about his part in making and sustaining West Ham as a top flight team for the first time or the fa cup win or the cup winners cup the following year. Forget also about his leadership skills and the testaments of many, many top professionals.
No, no, let's talk about his time at Fulham ffs.
Apparently he really did lack a yard at New York Cosmos _________________ Like my dreams they fade and die
