EPT GRAND FINAL SUPER HIGH ROLLER Prize pool already exceeds €2 million with 3 weeks to go
20 players already registered in first-ever €100,000 buy-in event in Europe
LONDON, UK – April 3, 2012 – The first ever €100,000 Super High Roller tournament to be played on European soil is proving to be popular and attracting some of the best players in the world, with 20 players already registered, taking the prize pool to a minimum of €2 million, the world’s largest poker site announced today.
The €100,000 Super High Roller tournament will be the opening event at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final, a spectacular nine-day festival of poker taking place from April 23 to May 1 in Monaco, one of the world’s most glamorous locations.
EPT President Edgar Stuchly said: “We’re extremely pleased to have such a fantastic response to the first ever European Super High Roller event and we look forward to welcoming some of the biggest names in international poker. It’s fitting that such an historic tournament is taking place in Monaco – the spiritual home of high stakes gaming. Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand (ElkY) Grospellier, who won both the High Roller tournaments at the EPT Grand Final in Madrid in 2011, added: “There are some big names signed up to play, and that always makes for an exciting tournament, not only for the players at the table, but for the spectators too.”
