I know, it is a bit stupid of me asking a question regarding a pokersite on a poker forum before i deposit and play. Thanks for your input Yoda |

I play a bit of poker for fun, so i don't really read much online poker news the way allot of people would. I really don't want to play at a site full of rake back nits that play 4 hands an hour so bodog looked like a bit more of a fun site to play on. But since the full tilt thing it does make you question more what sites are safe. I really don't spend much time reading about poker news to know what sites seem safe at the moment to thought i would ask here. Too many scandals in poker for me to keep up with. |

| From what I recall it has never been easy to take your money back off the site which would put me off anyway - I only play on a site if they send it straight back to my card with no fuss. In the current climate it would wiser to stick with a well known brand name UK bookmaker or pokerstars |

Definitely agree with this, your money is safer with the likes of ladbrokes than it is with most banks!
Pokerstars is obviously very secure as they keep player money separate and from what I understand they put a lot of their profit aside for emergencies.
Bodog's only advantage is that the standard of play is shockingly awful, I also heard that a simple program cracks their anonymous tables so you can still be tracked. _________________ @ryanpb |

I have enjoyed playing on Bodog in the past, done well there and had no problems with cashouts.
After Black Friday they were faster and more efficient with cashouts for me then other American sites such as Cake, Carbon + Absolute and Full Tilt!
However, no it is not safe to play there. Any site that is taking American players is a target for the US government. It has been clear that the DOJ is after Bodog.
When there are so many sites we can choose to play on, it makes no sense to choose a site that is in the crosshairs of the American Dept. of Justice. |

Bodog has some nice promotions, stable software and apparently some lose tables.
BUT
lets put it this way, if you do want to play there, then i would advise not to have any money on there, withdraw each night and only deposit for each table buy in.
any site that still takes US business is definitely operating in a grey (at best) area. it seems Bodog and a few others are operating in the US as long as they can until they get that phone call from the DOJ / FBI informing them that 'they're next'. they have already seized the bodog.com domain and so that should be seen as a first step to the eventual shutting down / stopping US business.
as seen with FTP and UB (and one or two others like dynamite and R'n'F) your money is not safe in US facing sites so if you do want to play there, make sure your risk is minimal at all times |

Why is anyone processing the transactions for Bodog? Won't they go to prison? _________________ @oneshotbobby on twitter |
