Major misconception, working out a certain area does NOT remove fat from it. Doing sit ups will build stomach muscles, but if you have fat over it, you'll never be able to see.
If your question was about building stomach/core muscles, just youtube 6 minute abs videos, and follow those routines, nice and simple, and doesn't take any time.
gonna watch a few more tonight and get tips etc from
my main target areas are belly/gut and moobs
my moobs imo look tighter now since the beginning of my training january roughly.
i can feel the muscle in them already and can flex them lol but can tense them if that makes sense. i wanna flatten/widen them so they dont look like tits but like a proper muscle
my belly i guess sit ups and running/treadmil/cardio is only thing to do???
For fat loss it's basically diet or whatever you can burn in calories. But you can jog for an hour and burn the same as a big mac meal, so whilst exercise is important for general wellbeing and general health, for fat loss your best bet is dietary adjustments. Exercising big muscle groups (thighs, calves, shoulders, back) seems to help fat loss as well, but your biggest gains will be dietary.
Don't forget that if you're doing fat loss and lifting weights, the scale will move more slowly than if you were doing weight loss alone. Get decent measurements including body fat & water percentage if possible.
the other problem with doing tons of cardio is that it can lead to muscle loss as well in extreme cases. And you can get as many of the benefits of cardio from just doing sprints/tabata/HIT - look at that horizon video I posted a few pages ago, plus even before that I seemed to be getting a lot of improvement from doing rowing and cycle sprints which took a few 20 second bursts or at most a 2 minute almost-sprint (500m on the rower). The only reason (as far as I can tell) for doing longer runs or CV is pure calorie burn or to condition yourself for endurance events. And don't be fooled by 'fat burning' modes on cardio machines. Calorie burn is simple effort over time. You could sit for an hour in the machines fat burning mode and burn the same as if you went harder for 15-20 minutes.
The other important thing in that horizon documentary was the HEAT principle - he burned an extra 500 calories a day just by getting up and walking a bit more, taking the stairs etc _________________ Si Hoc Legere Scis Nimium Eruditionis Habes

ye i watched that horizon documentary just about being a little more active...the barmaid was most active if thats the same one i watched?
Pembo: ye i watched or read something that for abs to show like u see on these 'movie hunks' u need like -8% body fat or something mad
im not really interested in having abs i mean if i get them i will be happy ofc but thats not my target at all.I just want a flattish stomach so im confident to whip off my top on a beach etc lol
while i am doing weights i am mainly doing cardio i.e the treadmill and basically moving about more than i normally would. Also dieting and imo eating quiet healthily.
i did read or watch something online tho that said if u work a muscle group/area it does burn fat from that area...i.e chest is this misinformation?
thanks for ur input appeciated
i'll look at the 6min abs vids (*reminds me of something about mary...5minute abs no nooo noooo come into my office.............lol*)
Rob: thanks
ye i'm dieting as well as dieting. i was told if u do cardio say like im doing a 30min walk/jog/sprint in intervals like 2minute walk 1 minute sprint...1minute jog 1 minute sprint etc and then do weights that u burn more calories than if u just did weights alone?
like i read so much on the net about its hard to know whats good info and whats bad.
so i kinda just stick to what im doing as ive been totally inactive for yrs 5-6yrs and what im doing now is so much more exercise than i have ever done except for when i was working on the building sites etc plus im now dieting so it must show on my body in weight loss right?
i get a little confused when i type sorry if it looks like i chat rubbish lol
well done on ur weight loss rob
p.s whilst i am dieting the weight on the scales means nothing to me like at the mo im 12stone 7 but i dont care if it says next week 12stone 9 as long as my body is shaping better and i look better less fat if that makes sense.

I just started using MyFitnessPal calorie tracker app, and after 24 hours would highly recommend it.
Haven't found anything yet that isn't in the database, and its barcode scanner works brilliantly - logging a pack of tesco sandwiches/Eat noddle soup is just a quick scan, take something from a pack at home, eg milk/spaghetti - just scan the pack and enter the amount for a full breakdown.
And its free.
The fact it gave me an easy to follow 'budget' for vitamins/minerals (combined with great counting from barcodes) is probably helping me focus on more healthy stuff as well.
My current plan is 1500 cals, 6 days a week, 4-5 weeks, should drop 3-4 kgs. _________________ http://www.alexbowler.com

Prefer to get percentage of body fat measured. That is a better indicator IMO.

Managed to undo some good work over the honeymoon. TimTams are just too damn good.
Back on the wagon today, won't get a weigh in until the weekend, don't expect it to be pretty though.... _________________ Si Hoc Legere Scis Nimium Eruditionis Habes
