You don't get many Chelsea fans banging that big club drum to be fair
Why do you think so many from the home counties, say Surrey or Essex for example "support" clubs 300 miles up the road and never go to games |
Because a lot of them or their families used to live in London and moved out in the 70's. Applies to a lot of my family and friends who moved to Essex and Sussex (many of them Chelsea & Arsenal fans). |
Oh, they used to live in London, that makes sense
So Manchester United or Liverpool and now Man City are the only options open to people that live in London?
Why not go Barnet, Brentford, Orient? |

Just realised I have misread your previous post so my reply doesn't make sense. |

Of course, miles behind Manchester United and Liverpool in terms of size of clubs, behind Arsenal as well
I would love to get a (non-Sun reading) Spurs fan with an IQ above 65 to explain with they think they are a bigger club than Chelsea
[ ] They've won more trophies
[ ] Bigger crowds
[ ] Turn over more money
Beggars belief it really does

I meant that an appearance does not equal 90 minutes. Ronaldo was used as a sub quite a lot in his first two seasons. I have no idea whether this makes a difference, but it does affect the statistics. |

| The majority of Bale's appearances have been after he has filled-out, Ronaldo was a wiry thing in his early days. Needs a yellow-card for simulation stat on there as well. |

I was curious about how close this was so looked on wikipedia
league titles + FA Cup + League Cup
Spurs 14
Chelsea 14
European Cup + EUFA + Cup Winners Cup
Spurs 3
Chelsea 2
of course if you add in things like the community shield and 2nd division titles etc things change (though I didn't count them so dunno how that changes things |

Physically he reminds me of Ronaldo though. Just a bit bigger than everyone else. I think it's a fair comparison. Bale started very average too, they couldn't win a game with him in the team. |

Every successful club in the world buys their success. If you think any different then you lack basic common sense! Chelsea also are without doubt a big club. Any team in England that can win titles and reach 2 champions league finals over a number of years is a massive club. They have been consistent in Europe for years now and have done well in England, mostly fighting for the title with the odd blip.
As for overall history, yeah their a bit behind even lesser clubs in england now, but in the current climate their a massive club.
I'd love to see Bale at OT, but i know that won't happen as we can't compete with 'them' for splashing the dosh. However i don't think he'd improve our team as much as Ronaldo would. I'd settle for Hazard coming instead of bale but even that seems out of reach. |

Its hard to talk any sense to a Spuds fan who thinks winning two League cup in 20 years and reaching 2 FA cup semi-finals is bigger than this, but good luck
Levy usually prefers selling players to Man U so Bale may choose Man U over City, Spuds to you guys are what West Ham used to be to us |

I guess that's a fair point but if City offer a lot more than SAF is willing to go then I'm sure Levy will do business with them. Also I'd be more hopeful on the deal if HR got the England job but I think he'll get away with another season keeping Bale/Modric.
It should be an interesting summer! |

Can see you boys signing Modric and Bale in the summer to be honest
As much as the pair of them stay at Spurs for the money, they will want to win a trophy at some point in their careers |
