Last night i watched Celtictigr and Thepro in action on laddies and VC, thepro $1/2 no limit he started quite well going from $80 to $150 in 20 minutes and then tailed off to around the 130 mark for a good hour or so. Celtictigr was in the $2.50/$5.00 on laddies and he was at $200 - $220 mark when i saw him and 2 hours later he was still hovering around the $220 mark. Celtictigr played very tight indeed basically folding nearly every hand while i was watching. Thepro on the other hand was quite willing to raise preflop usually raising with $5.00, then if nothing appeared much on the flop or if a ace or king hit he would raise quite a large amount, and then on the turn or river cards he would go all in. Thepro certainly likes to gamble a bit more than Celtictigr and it would interesting to see just what kind of money Thepro was making on the $1/2 $2/4 no limits tables at VC.

Im not here to slag either player as they both seem pretty good to me, what i find hard to understand is how Celtictigr can make 250k per year playing on tables such as $2.50$5.00 on laddies??

If any of you have viewed either players on VC or Laddies please share your views.

Thepro = likes to raise preflop and play aggressively thereafter.

Celtigr = Tight with plenty of patience and thoughtful, plays the cards like sklansky books, would assume he would be excellent at limit holdem.

Only my views, now lets here yours ?

On a final note hands up all those who have been beaten by clowns who call with 10 6 off suit ? or is that just my bad luck and the clowns good fortune. ha ha ha

keep hitting the rivers

I play different styles according to how the table is playing.

The value is not in the biggest games.
Why play against 8 strong players.
I dont have an ego problem well face it how could I.
Sometimes I play bigger when a fish drops by.
It's kinda like the the hare an the tortoise
lots of small wins.
IT just takes me longer ie 10 hrs per day.
Hope this has been of some help

Jim,

you might be the only person on this board who has ever pointed out the need for long hours. For many poker players, the annual plan for 2004 is:

January 1 - Enter a 10 supersatellite for a 300 satellite. Win it.
January 2 - Play the 300 satellite for a 2000 comp. Win a seat.
January 3&4 - Play the 2,000 comp and win first prize of 150,000
January 5 - Retire to the Bahamas
January 6 - Err... that's it.
