Just a quickie,

can anyone recommend any good heads up literature? There doesn't seem to be that much out there. I have a fairly extensive library of poker material and you'd be lucky if you can find any more than a few badly written chapters about heads up play.

I'm all for reading but this has to be something that you have to work out for yourself. You can't meaningfully talk about hand rankings or even pot odds / implied odds in heads-up play.

What matters is observation. You must look for a pattern in your opponent's actions. Once you find something, your task is to reverse-engineer the strategy that will lead to him giving you the chips. Avoid following any pattern yourself. If you are predictable, it's like leaving footprints to where the treasure is buried.

Thank you for the reply Mr Young, your views are always appreciated.

I even detect a hint of instruction/education in how to play heads up...a rare event indeed from you Smile
