|
|
I played in a STT $20 sit and go yesterday and ended up with a dilemna.
Four players left, myself on approx 9.5k in chips, player 2 (sitting out), 1k left, but he has sat out most of the tournament having doubled up early. Player 3, 950 chips, player 4, 2k in chips. Blinds are 150/300.
Players 3 and 4 were folding every hand in anticipation that they would make the money (top 3 paid). I was to the left of the player sitting out. I had raised 2xbb every hand in the knowledge that I would only be called by a monster.
Player's 2 and 3 ended up blinded all in but player 2 won the hand meaning the "live" player not getting paid, 3rd place going to the player who was sitting out.
I have to admit to feeling guilty after winning, I didn't get much pleasure winnning in this way and felt bad for the player who had bubbled.
Did I do wrong by raising every hand? What would you have done? |

You played exactly as I would have done.
Yeah it sucks for the player who lost to the sit out (yes it has happened to me), but you are there playing for you, not anybody else.
At the end of it it is the live players fault for not making some kind of move to try and get chips. With you raising every hand it would have been obvious that you didnt have a hand every time and in that situation a push with a rag ace and you would have probably folded or at least he would have been in a good position to double up and avoid that situation.
Scared money perhaps? |

Wow, I love situations like this. If you do feel racked with guilt I have been knocked out on a few occasions like the "live" player. You can send me some of your winnings, I'm TheGrimble on Full Tilt to make yourself feel better

ok, it seems I am too soft
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy winning (it doesn't happen often) but I guess I meant I prefer to win under different conditions.
I tried sending you money, sorry I am blocked at work from poker sites. Never mind, maybe next time |

| A terrible thing to do. That guy was desperate for third place; that $40 was his lunch money for all of this week. He will now go hungry, I hope you're happy with yourself. |
