Scotty Nguyen is the last surviving WSOP champ still in what with Huck Seed's elimination. I think Scotty was 6/1 or 8/1 ante-post (I wouldn't have bet on him though. Embarassed ).

Gus Hansen is capturing any significant hands he plays on a small voice recorder. He did the same during the Aussie Millions and he will be releasing a book in which he leads readers through his thought processes as he plays out each hand in that tournament. He tells me it is due to be released early next year, providing he can actually get his arse in gear and write it.

Ladbrokes must be pleased as they have the last two British players (Harris and Kalmar) left in with 62 players left.

Can either of them beat John Magill's 12th place finish from last year? Shocked

We apologise for the dearth of updates today but it is hard to get close to the action. It's only ESPN, Pokernews and WSOP staff inside the ropes now. We've had a scout around the outside and we believe the following Brits are still in (chips counts very approximate):

Jon Kalmar aka Skalie - he's way off his max chips on 900k.

Richard Harris - he's sitting next to the only woman left, Maria Ho, and is also around the 900k mark.

Phil Kershaw - he's sitting next to Scotty Nguyen and is one of the shortest stacks left on 450k.

To give you an idea of how much play is in those stacks, we are 30 mins into level 23 with blinds at 20k/40k and a 5k running ante. There are 57 players left. It looks like the Brits are going to have to make some moves if we are going to have someone to support in the final. Good luck chaps.

Big names left in the field are, most obviously, 1998 world champion, Scotty Nguyen, but also:

Bill Edler - bracelet winner this year in the $5k 6-handed NLHE.

Lee Watkinson - bracelet winner (from 2006) and serial WPT casher with almost $3M in tournament winnings since 2005.

Daniel Alaei - bracelet winner (also 2006) and another very successful tournament pro.

Hevad Khan - not known for his live poker feats but more famous as Pokerstars legend 'RaiNKhaN'. You can watch him 26-tabling on YouTube.
